Athens 2004 - The Video Game

I've got to confess that I really blow at the online mini game and have won 0 wreaths for the USA (I wuzrobbed!). I need to go waste a little more time playing it and see if I can break the 12 second barrier. So does anyone here own this? Any of the swimmers look like the Texas Trio? Is it worth the money? Anyone?

ETA: Another fun online "game", although some take it very seriously. ;) Measure your biorhythm compatibility with that special someone. All you need is their birthdate to know if you were meant to be together.

Bio Love Match

Of course, I know it's bunk because it only gives Brendan and myself an overall score of 53% which just CAN'T be right. :p But it does give me a 99% Physical compatibility rating with the Thorpedo, so maybe there is something to it after all.

79 Comments:

  • the swimming is the only one that i can geta wreath in. i can do the gymnastics, but not well enough, and the rest. forget about it.

lena--there's archery in there! you might want to give it a try :D

By Blogger Sarah, at 12/27/2004 11:27 AM

  • I'm going to check it right now!

By Blogger Lena, at 12/27/2004 11:33 AM

  • It's does not upload!

By Blogger Lena, at 12/27/2004 11:39 AM

  • Wheeee! I've won 3 wreaths now. 1 in Archery and 2 in swimming. Now I'm going for the gold in vaulting.

Btw - don't toggle, just bang the heck out of the left and right arrow keys simultaneoulsy. It works much better.

By Blogger Michelle, at 12/27/2004 11:44 AM

  • Got it now!! Bullseye!
I gave my country its first gold medal in archery. Ever

By Blogger Lena, at 12/27/2004 11:45 AM

  • Congrats Lena! It was only a matter of time. ;)

By Blogger Michelle, at 12/27/2004 11:47 AM

  • I've won over 20 wreaths already in Archery. You need to put the power to the top, let it go down and took your time at aiming.

By Blogger Lena, at 12/27/2004 11:52 AM

  • YAY! I just got 3 wreaths in Archery. Thanks for the tip Lena. Oh, and I got 2 wreaths in Vault cause I'm just all around talented that way. ;)

By Blogger Michelle, at 12/27/2004 11:56 AM

  • Michelle - You're better than Paul Hamm! WOO HOO!

I stink at swimming, but I'm going to blame the work computer on that.

By Blogger Stephie Mc, at 12/27/2004 12:00 PM

  • 5.18 in Swimming. Let's see what the rest has.

By Blogger Lena, at 12/27/2004 12:04 PM

  • I think my lack of video game playing growing up has caught up with me. I'm horrid at each one I've tried so far. Extremely frustrating.

By Blogger afadingvoice, at 12/27/2004 12:06 PM

  • If it makes you feel any better, Paul Hamm would have gotten a 10 in the vault compared with what I'm doing!

By Blogger Lena, at 12/27/2004 12:08 PM

  • I've added the bio love match link as well because it's always fun. Anyone else have any fun internet games they want to post? I just don't feel like actually WORKING today. :p

By Blogger Michelle, at 12/27/2004 12:09 PM

  • Btw - of the Trio, Aaron and I are most compatible at 92% overall, but I get a 100% physical compatibility rating with Ian so who cares that we score so dismally in the other categories. :D The best I can do with Brendan in a 90% emotional compatibility rating.

By Blogger Michelle, at 12/27/2004 12:14 PM

  • MASH...
    http://www.playmash.com/

First time I took it, no cheating, I married Brendan, lived in a Mansion, we gor 4 kids, drivea bordeaux ferrari and I was an writer in Amsterdam.
    I'm never taking it again.

    but you can go ahead

By Blogger Lena, at 12/27/2004 12:19 PM

  • Thank you Lena. Ok, we need Sean's birthday.

By Blogger Michelle, at 12/27/2004 12:23 PM

  • My little game addiction is: Flip The Mix Although, one of these days I am going to strangle the red M&M haha! =)

By Blogger Stephie Mc, at 12/27/2004 12:23 PM

  • I managed to do really well in the archery (10), and a 5.4 on the vault.

Swimming....yeah, that seems to be a problem for me. My PB was 8.63 but my worst time was 22.68. Just call me Eric the Eel. LOL I guess I was meant to cheer swimmers on, not actually be a swimmer.

By Blogger JHD, at 12/27/2004 12:24 PM

  • 69% overall with Pumpkin, including a 99% intellectually.

By Blogger Lena, at 12/27/2004 12:25 PM

  • 5.18 in swimming
more than 10 bullseyes in archery
    8.02 in the vault.

I guess I'm on my way to Beijing after all!

By Blogger Lena, at 12/27/2004 12:26 PM

  • Lena, you're quite the olympic superstar out of the group!

By Blogger afadingvoice, at 12/27/2004 12:30 PM

  • Guys? I think, I did something wrong on the vault because I never came down.

However, my personal best in swimming was 6.11 seconds. So, I feel much better about that!

By Blogger AimsRos, at 12/27/2004 12:33 PM

  • Aimros, when I actually make it on the springboard (instead of jumping over it like I usually do), I never come down either. It's not just you. I think my PB is 2.3. I had to step away from the computer for a bit because i was getting uber-frustrated.

By Blogger afadingvoice, at 12/27/2004 12:35 PM

  • I'm following Lena's lead and never playing MASH again after I got this:

    You will live in House.
You will drive a Red Navigator.
You will marry Sean and have 5 kids.
You will be a Director of PR for USOC in Colorado Springs, CO

We all know MASH doesn't lie! Oh, and I think 2 of the 5 kids may be adopted, but that's ok. haha!

-Signed, the Mayor of Denialville =)

By Blogger Stephie Mc, at 12/27/2004 12:50 PM

  • Ok, as soon as I finish my lunch I'm going to take on Lena and Atrophy's swimming times. I need sustenance though as I don't think I have any of that fast twitch muscle fiber times like that require.

And also, stupid bio love match says my perfect match is Mike Myers. Stupid thing is busted.

By Blogger Michelle, at 12/27/2004 12:51 PM

  • Yes! Finally! A 7.06 in swimming! 3 wreaths for me, does that equal gold? I think I'm retiring from the sport while I'm on top....

By Blogger JHD, at 12/27/2004 12:52 PM

  • "-Signed, the Mayor of Denialville =)"

Since when? I'm the Mayor of DV! I invited you to live there, remember? You can be Cultural Minister if you want.
Michelle, you cannot beat me. I just made 3 tens on a row in Archery and 5.10 in Swimming.

and my perfect match is the guy that plays the brother of Billy Elliot in that movie. *shudders*
No, I'm still thinking my perfect match is Pumpkin.

-Lena, real mayor of DenialVille. 4 more years.

By Blogger Lena, at 12/27/2004 12:56 PM

  • ROFL at Lena! Alright Mayor! I thought there was an opening since you were promoted to CCBHO, but I guess not! How about I just be your campaign manager? haha!

    4 More Years for Lena!!

By Blogger Stephie Mc, at 12/27/2004 1:00 PM

  • Ok, Steph, first task. A double date with Sean and Brendan. Make that happen.

I can joggle both jobs, is not a problem. I used to have three jobs last year, I can manage.

Speakign off, Team Leader reminds you all to keep on voting. We let ourselves slide during Christmas and now Aaron is at the lead in World Swimmer.
And I don't think we should let that happen after Brendan's wonderful Santa hat pic. Start voting!

By Blogger Lena, at 12/27/2004 1:08 PM

  • stephie - sean's b-day = aug. 16th, 1978
    lets hear the results!

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 12/27/2004 1:22 PM

  • Physical 85%
    Emotional 70%
    Intellectual 4%
    Total 54%

But why would we need to connect intellectually? I still think this thing is broken.

By Blogger Michelle, at 12/27/2004 1:27 PM

  • Uh, okay...

    Brendan:
    Physical - 99%
    Emotional - 90%
    Intellectual - 95%

So Brendan, do you like older women? =)

By Blogger JHD, at 12/27/2004 1:40 PM

  • It's broken JHD. Those were supposed to be MY scores. :p

By Blogger Michelle, at 12/27/2004 1:49 PM

  • Intellenctual counts. Sometimes you also want to talk, go to a museum, a movie, comment a book. (says the one that got 99% intellectually)

By Blogger Lena, at 12/27/2004 1:52 PM

  • That Love Bio thing is obviously broken!! =(

Here's what I got for Sean:

    Physical - 20% (Liars!)
    Emotional - 78%
    Intellectual - 72%
    Total - 57%

It is more important to have emotional and intellectual connections anyhow! Hmmph!

At least it got Brendan right:

    Physical - 99%
    Emotional - 94%
    Intellectual - 98%
    Total - 97%

If it were not for people with bows and arrows I might make a play for him! haha

We all know that MASH is the only truly scientific game out there. I'm sticking with MASH!

By Blogger Stephie Mc, at 12/27/2004 1:53 PM

  • Perhaps. Perhaps not.

Perhaps it is broken, and that's supposed to be my score with Sean! So Sean, do YOU like older women? ;)

How about frosting? Do you and Brendan have a particular favorite flavor of frosting? *whistles innocently*

By Blogger JHD, at 12/27/2004 1:55 PM

  • Hey,Sean's the same age as me. He looked younger than that. Mr.s H seemed to like giving birth in August. :D I did my compatibility with both and I guess I will have to stick to being just a fan...lol. I just moved to Denialville with Stephie. I got a 61 with Bren and 60 with Sean. Darn the luck! I forgot all about MASH. How about the one where you do True in one column and Love in the other then times those totals to get a percentage? This brings back memories. :p I was in 6th grade and couldn't choose between two boys. I will go try the Athens game now.

By Blogger blairbecky, at 12/27/2004 1:57 PM

  • HA! Lena told me her sekret and now I've got a gold medal in swimming. 5.13. I havent' beaten her time yet, but it's coming. You're going down now Lena!

By Blogger Michelle, at 12/27/2004 2:40 PM

  • OK, I palyed MASH again jsut to clear the air

    You will live in Mansion.
You will drive a red lamborghini.
You will marry Brendan and have 4 kids.
You will be a restaurant owner in amsterdam.

This game does not lie. The setting might have change, but the main core is the same. So, Pumpkin, how do you feel about Amsterdam? Is a beautiful city. And don't worry about the language, yours truly speaks Dutch.

By Blogger Lena, at 12/27/2004 2:41 PM

  • "HA! Lena told me her sekret and now I've got a gold medal in swimming. 5.13. I havent' beaten her time yet, but it's coming. You're going down now Lena"

I have still the record... Bring it on, I have no fear.

By Blogger Lena, at 12/27/2004 2:42 PM

  • ETA:

    4.94... ahem...

By Blogger Lena, at 12/27/2004 2:44 PM

  • I just ate lunch. I have to wait an hour before getting back in the pool. :p

By Blogger Michelle, at 12/27/2004 2:47 PM

  • so did I ;)

By Blogger Lena, at 12/27/2004 2:49 PM

  • OY! Now I've got a wicked forearm cramp. Medic!

By Blogger Michelle, at 12/27/2004 2:52 PM

  • "This game does not lie"

See, Lena knows. MASH is the only game that has scientifically proven results. =)

By Blogger Stephie Mc, at 12/27/2004 2:54 PM

  • you guys are funny! hope everyone had a great holiday weekend! its still subzero here in philly, but there's a big game 2nite, so no one is paying attention to the cold. E-A-G-L-E-S Eagles!
lena i did attempt to make dulce de leche, but some relatives who had to much to drink kept adding kahlua and baileys to the mix...it didnt work out.
stephie, i am still working on it!

    By Blogger swimphilly78, at 12/27/2004 3:19 PM

  • Well,I went with a swimmer theme in my MASH. It's bad when you type in Brendan and than sit there trying to think of someone else. So to make it easy I picked 5 cute swimmers.

Marry Marcus Rogan *hardship,i know ;p
    Mansion,5 Kids,Live in Virginia,Zoologist,Blue Toyota 4Runner

On the Athens game, after competing in the hurdles, where I laughed at myself so hard it brought a tear,I gave up. The crowd doesn't have to make that sound every time you fall to make worse, darn it. I think I'm missing the gene that makes you good at games like that. Now obsessed with M&M games.

By Blogger blairbecky, at 12/27/2004 3:19 PM

  • dulce de leche and baileys? OMG...

Anyway, I have a new game we all used to enjoy. It's called "Let's go vote for Brendan" Come on, team, I'm trying but I cannot do this alone. I need you. Brendan needs you. So, start deleting cookies and vote again.

Pumpkin, we know you're busy, but the troops need some words of encouragement. I'm afraid I'm not a natural born leader after all... ::tear running from my face::

By Blogger Lena, at 12/27/2004 3:27 PM

  • lena- dont worry, i have afeeling i'll be doing a lot of voting for the next few days, seeing as i am sick..and obviously cant go out.

but i agree...encouragement from bren, or any family member for that matter, would help stir the ranks (where did you all go? haha didi we finally scare you off :P)

By Blogger Sarah, at 12/27/2004 3:43 PM

  • Well,I'm a cheater so I did it again and ended up with Brendan. Now,Bren,we will have to live in a shack in australia. Is this okay?

By Blogger blairbecky, at 12/27/2004 3:46 PM

  • Well, Bren and i got an overall score of 73%which is pretty good but mistakes can be made like some of you have pointed out. Im SURE the percentage should be higher.haha

Hey brendan, post and tell us how your christmas went. =)

By Blogger jenny, at 12/27/2004 3:59 PM

  • Lena, don't fret. I'm not really able to vote very well here at my Mom's. She has dial up on a very slow computer. I'm going home tomorrow to my broadband and work on getting Bren back on top. You're a great leader. We all just got a little sidetracked,I think.

By Blogger blairbecky, at 12/27/2004 4:00 PM

  • swimphilly - You are an angel! ;) Did you get your soccer honey for Christmas? Oh, and I checked the grocery store yesterday and they actually sell dulce de leche, so I can always ship some out to you (or maybe personally deliver it, if you know, some guys happen to be around *cough*) if you would like.

blairbecky - I was so obsessed with the M&M game during the Olympics. I would play it while checking the Real Time results for swimming/gymnastics.

I'm off to try the hurdles. Maybe I won't be so bad at that one.

By Blogger Stephie Mc, at 12/27/2004 4:21 PM

  • actually, I'm working on a valentine's day treat for swimphilly. I just need some time...

By Blogger Lena, at 12/27/2004 4:31 PM

  • wow! valentines day??? con mi novio Mauro!!??! kidding!
    you guys rock!

    By Blogger swimphilly78, at 12/27/2004 5:01 PM

  • ok Lena - I voted and voted and now I quit. Brendan has a nice lead for now and I need to go practice my dolphin kick so I can beat you in teh swimming.

By Blogger Michelle, at 12/27/2004 5:05 PM

  • By all means Michelle, please go.
Then Brendan would know you only beat me b/c you cheated and he's gonna pick me!
Swimphilly, I'm trying ok, I cannot make any promises. I don't have this guy ate the reach of hand *cough*getSean*cough, but I'll see what I can do.

Pumpkin, have we scared you off? Please, we miss you.

And the rest of the family too.
    Keep voting people!!!

By Blogger Lena, at 12/27/2004 5:15 PM

  • Well I only did MASH once and married Brendan driving a tan Golf, living in an apartment in Kentucky working as a school counselor without any kids.

I also did the compatability and got 99% on physical :) and then only 11% on emotional and then 72% on Intellectual and an overall 61 :(

Those other two aren't really important, are they?

By Blogger Kate, at 12/27/2004 5:18 PM

  • OK, Lena. You placed the call to vote, so I did my part. Also, on Saturday, I spent a good chunk of time voting. I figured I was one of the few not celebrating Christmas, so I should pitch in and help out.

By Blogger AimsRos, at 12/27/2004 5:27 PM

  • I just voted again too.

By Blogger Kate, at 12/27/2004 7:21 PM

  • Hey, Sean is ten days younger than I am. Yay August! Yay 1978!

By Blogger Angie, at 12/27/2004 10:03 PM

  • Ok I played the match game and can it REALLY give you 0 in a category? What a scam...

    with Brendan
    Physical- 91
    Emotional- 0 (yes, absolutely nothing)
    Intellectual- 95

    Love-matching machine you're a jerk

By Blogger Anna, at 12/28/2004 12:54 AM

  • Okie doke. I am 57% physically compatable with both the boys
90% Bren and 99% Sean emotionally compatable
and 37% Bren and 78% Sean intellectually compatable.
    overall .... 60% Bren and 79% Sean.

That mean that when we meet we will be able to stand near each other and have good conversation and make each other laugh and cry. That was all I asked wanted anyway. Well that and to see the tattoOOps!

Say, does Sean have any distinguishing marks??

By Blogger lala, at 12/28/2004 3:23 AM

  • Hi All-
This LA girl has a favor to ask the BHO fans. Could some kindhearted East Coast blogger who has Comcast SportsNet please tape the Phantoms game on the 29th? You really only have to tape the important part (!) and then please post it so we can see Brendan on ice. Hmmmm, Brendan on ice........I like the sound of that...

By Blogger No Good User Names Left, at 12/28/2004 8:41 AM

  • Woo hoo!or BOOOO! The bio-match says I'm a 100% physical match for Sean but 33% with Brendan. Emotionally, it's Sean 84% and Brendan 62%. It's 65% intellectual with Sean and 95% with Brendan. Totals are 83% Sean(wooo!)and 64% Brendan(booo!)

I think Stephie and I have agreed to share Sean.

By Blogger Ms of Arc, at 12/28/2004 10:05 AM

  • Woo-Hoo! AimsRos sent me another golden oldie...
Fortune TellerI asked it if Brendan liked older women and it told me that it would last at least through Arbor Day. WOOT! So, when is Arbor Day?

By Blogger Michelle, at 12/28/2004 10:27 AM

  • Warning! Do not click this link unless you are prepared to lose hours of your life.

    The Monkey Game.Fiendishly addicting!

By Blogger Angie, at 12/28/2004 10:31 AM

  • So, when is Arbor Day?National Arbor Day is the last Friday in April. So, you should be good to go for at least a few months, Michelle. ;)

By Blogger AimsRos, at 12/28/2004 10:48 AM

  • Arbor Day -> Michelle, that's too funny. Nothing says "turning point in my love affair with beautiful swimmers" like a holiday that is devoted to trees. Ha.

I think I may have it all beat, I haven't tried Brendan, but I plugged in Sean's birthday and I scored a 100/99/99 = 99. I also have a 99/98/97 with a really amazing guy I spend time with when work sends me south, so by mathematical logic, I bet Sean is REALLY amazing. :)

I'll check to see if I have Comcast Sportsnet. I might.

    D

By Blogger Dana Cara, at 12/28/2004 10:48 AM

  • And you know, it didn't specify THIS Arbor Day. Maybe they meant Arbor Day 2060.

By Blogger Michelle, at 12/28/2004 10:59 AM

  • Btw, Angie was right. That damn Monkey is addictive.

By Blogger Michelle, at 12/28/2004 11:04 AM

  • It's like this greener version of Tetris...

By Blogger Lena, at 12/28/2004 11:23 AM

  • The Monkey Game claims more victims! It is like Tetris. Serious. If you play it too much? You'll start dreaming about it.

By Blogger Angie, at 12/28/2004 11:27 AM

  • Well hello I hope everyone enjoyed the holiday and are now getting ready for the new year. I just wanted to let you all know first. That a reporter called me yesterday and I did the 20 question tuesday. Its a holiday special which means there might be more than 20 and he told me the reason he waited til know was because the usa swimming website gets more hits during this time than ever. Thinking back to the questions I think you will all thoroughly enjoy it. Keep a look out.

By Blogger pumkin, at 12/28/2004 12:00 PM

  • Argh! Why did I click on the monkey game link...

Well it's not like I was doing anything, like work today. =)

By Blogger JHD, at 12/28/2004 12:03 PM

  • pumkin - look up. And yes, we thoroughly enjoyed it.:)

By Blogger Michelle, at 12/28/2004 12:04 PM

  • Poor Bren. It's his news, and he's a step behind us!

There's a band that I like who refers to their fans as the "Secret Service" because the fans find out stuff, sometimes even before them! I guess we're just as good at finding stuff out too. =)

By Blogger JHD, at 12/28/2004 12:10 PM

  • I did enjoy them, Pumpkin. Thanks for letting us now. We can call off some things we had planned for 2005 now.

And I lvoed the whole swimming talk. I did miss the tattoo one ;)

By Blogger Lena, at 12/28/2004 12:11 PM

  • JHD, Michelle is CIA Michelle.
