  • Awww! I love the first one with Brendan's curls! Soo adorable!

Hey Handsome - Can I ride on the back of your jet ski?? HAHA! =)

By Blogger Stephie Mc, at 12/10/2004 11:10 AM

  • I have to know- where was the jetski picture taken?

    By Blogger Texas-Gal, at 12/10/2004 11:25 AM

  • Good one, Steph, but you're aiming at the wrong brother...

The curls in the first are so pretty. And the Charlie Brown... awww

And Brendan, you were seriously cute when yoou were a baby. And then you graduated to hot. With honors

By Blogger Lena, at 12/10/2004 11:27 AM

  • Steph - Line forms behind me. I've already got my vest on. :P

By Blogger Michelle, at 12/10/2004 12:04 PM

  • The Charlie Brown in the bottom of the pool... pointing at .. that's right Lena you very own (Great) Pumpkin! Priceless. But he is more of a sprout there. And I can't believe all of you haven't mentioned his arms on that Skidoo. I saw a commedian last night on Leno who was sying how impossible it is to be sad on a skidoo.. It is also impossible to see Brendan on a skidoo and not smile. Thanks for the snaps B-Family! I am really enjoying the small doses of crack Michelle..... What happen's when it runs out??!! We will all have to go to the Betty Ford Clinic for Brendan Hansen addiction!!

  • What happen's when it runs out??!! We will all have to go to the Betty Ford Clinic for Brendan Hansen addiction!!I'm already enrolled in a 12 step program, but it's not working very well. HA!

By Blogger Stephie Mc, at 12/10/2004 12:15 PM

  • Yes, withdrawl could be quite painful. At least there are enough of us here that we could have some quality group therapy sessions.

  • Should I ration just one picture a day..or a week...would that be better? You know, I can always take my "product" elsewhere if you ladies can't handle it.

    :evilcrackdealerlaugh:

By Blogger Michelle, at 12/10/2004 12:28 PM

  • Noooo! You can't take the goods elsewhere! I gotta have it!!

    *startshavingwithdrawlsymptoms* =)

By Blogger Stephie Mc, at 12/10/2004 12:31 PM

  • lala, steph, no 12- programm for you. I don't want to be cured. We'd figure something...
Great Pumpkin... jaja... you are always gonna tease me, but I don't care. I already stated that until Brendan tells me that he does not like it (and so far so good, no news about that one) I'm gonna keep on calling him that.

And thanks for pointing "los tubos" (lunfardo for arms). now I'm gonna go sleepless another night.

By Blogger Lena, at 12/10/2004 12:32 PM

  • Well, on second thoughts... you can all go have fun in the water with Brendan. I think I'm gonna sit in the beach with a book and contemplate it. Of course, when the sun is down and you've all jad your fun, I'm the one taking him home

By Blogger Lena, at 12/10/2004 12:44 PM

  • Lena, I think Brendan will not protest you calling him "pumpkin" because the truth will now be known that when he was little I use to call him my "little pumpkin man". Whenever I see you referr to him as "pumpkin" I remember those days and it brings back so many memories. His face was so full, back then, the name fit! How you came up with it as well is so ironic and funny at the same time. Bren's Mom, (I would sign in without being anonymous as well but when Bren was home he used my computer and we somehow got messed up. I am working on it and hopefully will be as advanced as Aunt K soon.)

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 12/10/2004 1:33 PM

  • Well, that does it. We'll have to have Pumpkin t-shirts made now. Thanks Mrs. H. I think Lena has been temporarily rendered speechless. lol.

By Blogger Michelle, at 12/10/2004 1:57 PM

  • Sorry, I just found my mouth again. I was right all along. Don't ask me how, when we started to brainstorm nicknames for Brendan, I saw a pic of him and Pumpkin came to my mind.
Of course, they all laugh at me, but I did not care. They took a poll, I lost, but still did not care.
And now, we find this lovely story. I'm speechless.

And don't think you're all gone steal my nickname after laughing at it!

By Blogger Lena, at 12/10/2004 2:10 PM

  • Lena, love..the nickname is all yours. I don't think any of us would dream of stealing it from you! =)

As for me, I will stick with "Handsome" because he is handsome and I don't know a guy in the world who would be upset if a girl called him "handsome". *bats eyelases* =)

Now what I want to know is what was Sean's nickname? Using only the description of Sean from the aunts, the nickname I came up with is "Cutie McHottie" but I need some evidence that this would be a good nickname for him. HAHA! =)

By Blogger Stephie Mc, at 12/10/2004 2:18 PM

  • HA! I never laughed. I liked Pumpkin! I just liked Tiger better. RAWR!

By Blogger Michelle, at 12/10/2004 2:18 PM

  • PML Stephie. Cutie McHottie indeed.

By Blogger Michelle, at 12/10/2004 2:19 PM

  • The pictures are too cute, as always! Although at first I thought you were saying that Brendan was dressed as Charlie Brown at the bottom of the picture. But then I saw the Charlie Brown image, and I'm with ya now.

I'd ask for a ride on the Skidoo, but I've never been on one, and it makes me a bit nervous. Perhaps I'd get over my fear if Brendan were to give me personal lessons on how to ride one. Please make sure you hold me very tight, Brendan, I don't want to fall off! *grin*

And hee on the Pumpkin story. Lena is once again ahead of the curve. And you alone have the right to call him that (besides Mom naturally). But this brings up an interesting question, B-Family, does Brendan have any other childhood nicknames we should know about? All in the name of research of course.

By Blogger JHD, at 12/10/2004 2:28 PM

  • -Good one, JHD. Good one.

I've never been in one of those either. But like I said before, I'll pass. You guys go ahead, I'll stay with a book on the beach. Then later wqe can all set a fire and watch the sunset

By Blogger Lena, at 12/10/2004 2:51 PM

  • Wow! This is addicting. Maybe I should just do the 20 questions. HAHA We had some nicknames for Sean they were .... are you ready?....You are going to think I am making this up but Aunt C and Aunt K will verify..."Handsome Harry" and "Henry Hormone" the second I would say during the teenage years when he was overflowing with them. Bren's nickname I still call him today is "Bren Bear". I am going to get an earful once my boys find out I am telling to all this. But I just can't believe how close you all are with your names. Mrs. H

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 12/10/2004 2:51 PM

  • Steph!!! You got it right!
And all of us for calling the Trio Aarbear, Ianbear and Brenbear...

And Mrs. H. you're just wonderful. Tell your boys not to do anything or they would have to deal with me.

By Blogger Lena, at 12/10/2004 2:54 PM

  • Henry Hormone, huh?? LOL! That's too funny!

Mrs. H - You are so awesome!! Oh, and feel free to give in to the addiction. No matter how I try, I am still drawn to "the force" that is BHO! =)

Well, since Michelle liked my idea, I think we stick with "Cute McHottie" for Sean until I am proven wrong, which I have a feeling I won't be. ;) Although, "Henry Hormone" kills me! HAHAHA!

Lena - I think it could be a sign? What do you think? ;)

By Blogger Stephie Mc, at 12/10/2004 3:06 PM

  • Bren Bear?? OK, now it's getting scary, especially since I'm the one who started the Aar-Bear thing. Either none of us are all that original, or we know way more about these guys than we thought.

By Blogger JHD, at 12/10/2004 3:07 PM

  • LOL. Well that's one way to get the boys to call home Mrs. H. No "Tigers" in the family? I must not be as psychic as the rest of you. That's just too funny.

By Blogger Michelle, at 12/10/2004 3:16 PM

  • This only proves we're all true fans.

lol, this blog gets better and better by the minute.

By Blogger Lena, at 12/10/2004 3:44 PM

  • I'm loving all this insider info. Thanks Mrs. H! Your nicknames for Brendan are so adorable and it's so cute you still call him Bren Bear. My mom still calls me by my childhood nickname too (and no, I'm not saying what it is!).

And nice job all you bloggers who came up with the other nicknames! (By the way, I love the Aar Bear one JHD).

By Blogger Janine, at 12/10/2004 3:55 PM

  • Bren on skidoo, so hot! The island is so gorgous.…. Where is it? I’ve never been on skidoo before. I admit that I might be the first one who will drown if I don’t have a livesaver jacket on L I agreed with JHD that I would ride on it only if Bren holds me tightest possible. Which one is better: have him to hold me or have him to rescue me & give me CPR?

By Blogger Maxine, at 12/10/2004 4:30 PM

  • oh my gosh, the feet ... Bob Bowman would freak out if he saw that pic, with his theory about Brendan's breaststroke being god-given, that picture confirms it, at least anatomically. You know they teach little girls to stand in that that position in ballet, and it's a struggle for them? He's such a natural.

I've never posted before, this is a beautiful site, you all did a lovely job. One other story: back in October, visiting a friend at Villanova, Pete Cipollone and I drove through Haverford and stopped on the bridge overpass with the congratulatory banner - the one right down from St. Denis'? He got out and posed, we took a picture of him next to his name. I don't know if Haverford's two biggest Olympic names have ever met, but Chip is a riot, fantastic, and at a foot shorter than Brendan, it would've been a very funny pic with a mismatched pair of Olympians.

    All the best -- Dana

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 12/10/2004 4:35 PM

  • Welcome to the Brendan Blog Dana - post often!

That first picture just kills me.

By Blogger Michelle, at 12/10/2004 5:03 PM

  • These pictures are great! Thanks so much for sending them Mama Hanson, and Michelle for posting them. Although Im also worried about withdraw symptoms when we run out. :)
Brendan must have been born with those muscles!

By Blogger Kate, at 12/10/2004 5:55 PM

  • Mrs. H, you are by far the best ever! The rest of the family is not too far behind through :-D Bren bear! so cute! i've gotten into the habit of just calling him b-han.

those new pics are adorable..the arms on the jetski/skidoo are just..wow.

By Blogger Sarah, at 12/10/2004 6:47 PM

  • thougt I would chime in here and vouch for the nicknames...and want to commend Dana on being so observant. When we were going threw the pics I remember stating to Bren's mom about the feet in that pic and wondered who would pick up on it...someone also asked about where the last pic was taken...I am pretty sure it was Lake Wallenpallpak (I spelled that phonetically but even if I was able to spell check would probably not help) which is in the Poconos here in PA.

By Blogger Aunt K, at 12/10/2004 7:53 PM

  • I noticed his cute little frog feet, but how many of YOU noticed he's wearing red swim trunks in all 3 pictures? I don't just put these things up randomly people. ;)

By Blogger Michelle, at 12/10/2004 8:21 PM

  • He's wearing swim trunks? ;)

To be honest, I don't see much past the bright blue eyes and the biceps. I'm a sucker for both. (Actually I tend to notice one other body part too, but that particular angle hasn't been visible in these pictures, and in the first 2 pictures, Bren's way too young for me to notice that.)

By Blogger JHD, at 12/10/2004 8:56 PM

  • This is my very first post! YEAH! So, how cute is baby Brendan? Seriously he was a little doll baby. Now he is just....ah no words! Found one..Perfection!

By Blogger Kimberly, at 12/10/2004 9:15 PM

  • "Henry Hormone"; "Bren Bear", LOL...that is way too cute, wonder what Sean and Brendan are going to think when they find out that we know, ;). Thanks for sharing 'Mama Bear' and 'Auntie Bear'.

That pic of 'Bren Bear' *giggles* when he was a toddler is just precious, =). Love his muscles in the second pic. The third *thud*...those arms...*drool*
Oh how I wish that I wasn't afraid of the water, he looks like he's having a blast on that thingy.

By Blogger Maria, at 12/10/2004 9:43 PM

  • That first picture is soooo adorable! And Bren Bear, that's great!

Lake wallenpaupack....you *have* to be kidding me....I'm so close to there right now that it boggles my mind....

    By Blogger lizook12, at 12/10/2004 10:52 PM

  • I say we start a website for cool Olympic Mom's! LOL! Mrs. H is awesome, and Some friends of mine said that Mrs. Phelps was very nice as well! You've got to love Mom's!

By Blogger Kimberly, at 12/11/2004 12:01 AM

  • bren's pics are soo adorable! thanks mrs. hansen for sending those pictures! those nicknames are absolutely the greatest, too. my friends call me er-bear, too. awesome blossom! =D man...those arms... erin.

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 12/11/2004 12:28 AM

  • I'm away for a day and look at all the stuff on the blog. Frog feet...too cute. That's when you know a picture is old when the corners are curved. I don't know how many we have like that of when I was little. The second pic is cute but my jaw dropped a little on the third pic. I believe he should spend all of his time in or around water because I love the wet look. Goodness gracious,he's a hottie. I don't have cute nickname for Bren and now I feel bad. I feel as if I have let down the blog...lol. I'll try but I'm just not half as creative as all you girls. I'm jealous. :p I think the next order of business is to get pics of Sean. I believe we don't discriminate here. We will take pics of any handsome men. I know it will be hard to look at those pics but we will try. ;D

By Blogger blairbecky, at 12/11/2004 7:46 AM

  • Oh,I forgot to say something about the curls. Sigh! I do so love the curls.
