Wearing Nelson Diebel's gold medal - a moment that inspired him on to his own.

A man and his Chevy.

  • Lena and Blairbecky..you girls had me laughing. I noticed Brendan was slipping in the Swim Info poll and posted. Lena "got on it", not wanting to let Grandma down. Blairbecky followed suit and lo and behold..Bren is leading again. I called his mom to reinforce to her what great fans Brendan has. Hope all you sickies are feeling better!

By Blogger Aunt "C", at 12/18/2004 11:17 AM

  • As always wonderful pics. The first one is awesome. I am sure it did inspire young Brendan to achieve the same success.

The second I love because I believe that you can always tell a man by his car and that is a rugged, manly vehicle..just seems so like Bren.

    Off-Topic

    Lena keep getting better, hon!

Hottie McCutie - You get better too! No being sick for Christmas now, cutie!

All the other sickies - get better!

Michelle - Have fun at the Van Goh exhibit, or have a safe trip to PA, whichever you decide to do. ;)

I'm heading back to vote for teh Handsome some more. Afterall, the state motto in Massachusetts is "Vote early, and vote often!" hee

  • Hey! Looks like I guessed correctly on Brendan's car. Yay, me! Hee.

Instead of getting sick like everyone else, I decided to branch out and sprain my ankle. So, thanks for the latest photos to check out while I ice my ankle.

By Blogger AimsRos, at 12/18/2004 11:33 AM

  • Bad news. i think im getting sick now. =(
oh well, obviously i havent been the only one. Feeling better Lena? anyway, thanks for telling us about the deleting cookies tactic. i have voted *cough* a few times already.
these are the last pictures right? how sad. but they are two good ones. Love the second one. ahh, nothing like a good Brendan fix to start off the day.

By Blogger jenny, at 12/18/2004 11:49 AM

  • Ok, I'm off to Atlanta. (the Hansen boys are safe for now ;)
I'll be checking in later. Y'all hold down the fort for me.

By Blogger Michelle, at 12/18/2004 11:54 AM

  • Ah, now that I know his car maybe I'll see Brendan driving around Austin because there can't be TOO many tan Tahoes right? ha

By Blogger Anna, at 12/18/2004 11:54 AM

  • Aunt C, my pleasure, I'll keep on voting.

Ok, I'll hold the fort while Michelle is gone.

Michelle: get me a detailed description of the VG exhibition. I'm not kidding, I really like Van Gogh-.

Spread ankle (sorry, to many names) Ice, feet up, lots of Bren's pics and some chocolate. Ibuprophen if the pain is too much.

Thanks everyone for the thoughts, I'm feeling better, although my back is killing me due to all the shots. The doctor told me I have to walk, but it's kind of hard right now.
The pics are so pretty, I like the view (Bren and the lake) on the last one...

What else? lala, we need some fun posts.

Steph, you need to start planning the double date.

Sean, you need to start posting

Brendan, you need to deliver a pic of the tattoo. I'm not quiting on that one, Pumpkin. I'm gonna see that tattoo.

The rest, go vote and vote often. Let's do this one for Grandma.

OK, break files, team. I'll check later

By Blogger Lena, at 12/18/2004 12:20 PM

  • I had to come post this because it was too funny. I was looking for some goggles because I might be taking a swim class soon, but while I was browsing I saw THIS and immediately thought we have to get one for Lena and pumpkin! HAHAHA! I am sure Brendan won't mind wearing it around in practice. Aaron and Ian won't laugh at all! heeheehee

Lena - Take it easy. Don't push yourself. And I have to plan the double date? Ok, no pressure...

By Blogger Stephie Mc, at 12/18/2004 12:28 PM

  • JAJAJA, OMG, I'm laughing so hard! I want one of those. Brendan, if you ever wear one of those and someone takes a pic and posts it, I'd love you forever.
Steph, no pressure: I'm thinking something like a picnic outdoors, I'll cook, you get the drinks, the boys just need to show up.

    People, keep on voting.

Break up files, team. Each one knows their assignments.

By Blogger Lena, at 12/18/2004 12:41 PM

  • hahah!! stephie that is great. i say we should get one for bren for christams. what do y'all think?

man, this is the season for illnesses, isnt it? i hope all who are feeling crappy get better soon...b/c no one wants you all to be sick fro christmas!!

oh, and the pics are adorable. a pic of hot guy and a nice car are always welcome :D

By Blogger Sarah, at 12/18/2004 4:20 PM

  • Ok, this is your Team Leader speaking.

Aarbear is winning. I repeat, Aarbear is winning. We're loosing ground. This cannot happen. Start voting, I repeat, start voting.

    Team Leader out.

Seriously, people, you know I love Aarbear but come on, Pumpkin must win!

By Blogger Lena, at 12/18/2004 4:29 PM

  • Aw, Brendan looks so happy in the first picture. And I was guessing he drives some sort of big SUV! Nice car Brendan, but please don't ever get an Escalade! haha.

And add me to the list of people with an ailment/injury. I have no idea what's wrong with my foot, but it's been hurting for the past couple of days when I put pressure on it. I don't think I broke it or sprained it...maybe I'll try some ice.

By Blogger Janine, at 12/18/2004 4:32 PM

  • hi girls-
    hows everyones weekend going?
lena - boca won?! yay! i wish i had a Quilmes to celebrate! who is number 17 btw? i went onto the website the other day - he may be my new crush!

and it sounds like somethings going around the brendan blog - hope everyone gets well in time to chug some egg nog!!!
    ;)
p.s. i voted, and mr. h and aunt k hooked me up with how to work the 'cookies' thing under tools...

By Blogger Stephie Mc, at 12/18/2004 4:54 PM

  • Quilmes? Well, you really liked my country! Quilmes, El sabor del encuentro.
I'm gonna check on number 17, but thing is the jersey numbers change all the time... you don't remember the name, don't you?
anyway, it was a 2-0 victory over Bolivar and Boca won the SouthAmerican Cup. It was also Tevez farewell game, Palermo's 100th goal and Maradona was in the VIP boxes. A night to remember.

    Keep voting people, keep voting.

By Blogger Lena, at 12/18/2004 5:12 PM

  • I love that first shot of Brendan. I don't know if he even smiled that much when he had his gold medal on. What an inspiring thing. There it is ladies. This is why he lets people see his medals! Lena, I am sorry but I am flying off to San Fransisco in a few minutes. So I will have to let the team down. Sorry. I will vote I leave though! I promise. And you may get the Pumpkin..... But I get the first glimps of the tattooOOps. Sorry I said I wouln't talk about that. Remember, it is I who doesn't sleep for thinkng of it ;)

Wait... How come Lena gets to talk about it? Brendan really should wear that Pumpkin cap. And if he wore one that was a toiger!! ::Squeee!!::

By Blogger lala, at 12/18/2004 5:44 PM

  • lala, you would never let the team down. Don't worry, I'm still holding the fort in here. Our boy is still number one.
And I can talk about the tattoo b/c I never said I wasn't gonna.
As for the cap, it's uber cute and funny.
Keep voting people! Good luck in San Francisco, be sure to wear some flowers in your hair.

By Blogger Lena, at 12/18/2004 5:57 PM

  • Bailey & Tigger voted for Brendan! They have don't have the ability to type, so I helped them out. =)

Lena - I'm on the drinks..definitely can bring those. ;)

lala - If I come across a Toiger swim cap, I'll let you know. I don't think they make a Handsome cap for me to wear! haha! =)

By Blogger Stephie Mc, at 12/18/2004 6:12 PM

  • I've been voting for Bren like crazy!! Between making Christmas cookies and spending some time with my mom, I keep going by and voting because Bren deserves it SO much-I love you too Aaron but B-Han has to get it this time!

By Blogger LongHornLove, at 12/18/2004 10:56 PM

  • Is it possible that we're passing the illness through the computer??? *sneezes*

That grin on his face in the first picture is too adorable. How inspiring must that have been? (yeah, I know others have said it already, but it's true! lol)

    Hope everyone's feeling better soon!

    By Blogger lizook12, at 12/18/2004 11:04 PM

  • Ok, I made it to Atlanta and even managed to find a hotel with free wireless network access. Wheeee! We wasted so much time in Chattanooga this afternoon that we didn't make the Van Gogh exhibition and are going to do the museum tomorrow. I'm really looking forward to it and I'll be sure to pick up some brochures for you Lena.

Aar-Bear in the lead? I need to figure this cookie thing out so I can go vote again. Glad to see you kept the team motivated Lena. I hope everyone is starting to feel better!

By Blogger Michelle, at 12/18/2004 11:22 PM

  • Mornind people!
All my thoughts for the ones feeling sick. Michelle, thanks for picking up some brochures for me. Which museum is it? I'm gonna check it also on the web (Master's research).
For the voting, you need to go to Tools, Internet Options and then clear your cookies
Second, Aarbear is on the lead. We need to keep on voting...
    Nice Sunday everyone.

By Blogger Lena, at 12/19/2004 6:57 AM

  • Lena - It's the High Museum here in Atlanta and it's the Van Gogh to Mondrian exhibition.

By Blogger Michelle, at 12/19/2004 8:04 AM

  • ::warning: Art Freak Post::

Michelle! You're gonna see an exhibition from the Kroller Muller Museum! The KMM is one of the most famous museums in Holland, it has this great open area and whatnot. I wasn't able to go there when I was in Amsterdam b/c work was crazy but it's at the top of my list..
Man, those things never get to Argentina...

Brendan is looking fine (as usual) in the polls. But keep voting... Those Aarbear fans (that I love btw) are restless

By Blogger Lena, at 12/19/2004 8:34 AM

  • Ladies I am sooo impressed with all of you and your dedication. Here is how my day went yesterday.
    Made cookies....checked the vote....deleted cookies...voted...made them....deleted them...voted....made them....deleted them voted on and on.....When I stopped....noticed someone else picked up. Great team work ladies !!!!

Lena, your team leader speech/post yesterday really got to me. So inspiring that I had to do my part and I know the Bren bloggers will keep him in the lead.....we just need some inside info on when the voting ends....

By Blogger Aunt K, at 12/19/2004 8:50 AM

  • I truely admire your dedication in this voting thing. You guys are unbelievable!
Lena you should have been in the army! Brendan came home early this morning around 2am. I told him about how you guys go on and vote. You were all deleting cookies while I was making them. Aunt K was suppose to help me decorate them and her and Brendan's Dad were voting for over an hour!
I told them we should just give up. Apparently, no one wants to let Lena down. We are all afraid the bow will be aimed in our direction if we don't continue voting.
Aunt K wants to hold a truce with the Piersol camp. Let each swimmer get one catagory. What do you think about that? Mrs. H

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 12/19/2004 9:02 AM

  • Aunt K and Lena,I'm trying. I got some voting in this morning. Aaron was in the lead but I think we fixed him for awhile...lol. It's hard to vote against Bren's good friend but you know how it goes. I also had to give my girl Jenny Thompson some help. I think she deserves it this year. I just want her shoulders. I know that's funny that I envy a girl her shoulders.

Anybody else besides me have snow today? It's not sticking really but snow is still snow. Have a great Sunday everyone. I'm off to bed. Aunt K,maybe Michelle can ask her inside source if he knows. :D

By Blogger blairbecky, at 12/19/2004 9:05 AM

  • Oh, I forgot! Lena's new title, "Commander and Chief of the BHO". She has officially earned it. Shorten...CCBHO.
I am headed off to make more cookies, since I felt guilty and voted for over a half an hour this am. Not going awall. Mrs.H

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 12/19/2004 9:08 AM

  • Mrs.H,you posted when I did. No truces in this war...lol. You are right about Lena. All she had to do is explain to me why it was for grandma and I've been a dedicated voter ever since. Now if you have any extra cookies, just let me know and I'll give you my address..lol.

By Blogger blairbecky, at 12/19/2004 9:11 AM

  • think I maybe getting a bad rep on this blog...I did help with decorating the cookies...gingerbread men and santa surprises...I even remember the names. So when I finished with the one set of cookies just had to check the others (with voting). Mom H. kept saying to stop, I said....would Bren give up?...no way. the only reason I was thinking of a truce is because we have no idea when this voting ends.....but I am sticking with my original plan....and will keep Bren in numero uno position...

Lena....I think we need more inspiring words from our leader....

By Blogger Aunt K, at 12/19/2004 9:15 AM

  • blairbecky....since I am an assistant to Mrs H in the cookie decorating area...I believe that allows me to assign you a title as well (in the cookie deleting area). Lena can be Commander and you are now First Lt. of the BHO....I say to Aaron fans....bring it on...
    we are ready for ya.

By Blogger Aunt K, at 12/19/2004 9:24 AM

  • Good to see Brendan back in the lead. I deleted my cookies several times this morning and voted mercilessly.

I'll be on standby the rest of the day, but feel free to call me back to duty Miss Commander. Anything for my BHO posse.

By Blogger afadingvoice, at 12/19/2004 9:34 AM

  • Darn it,I was about to go to bed but just wanted to check out how the voting was going. Guess what happened? I started voting again. Bren, you are cutting into my sleep but I won't hold it against you. Thanks,Aunt K,I'll try to do my job to the best of my ability...lol. :P I think everyone on here is voting their little hearts out. This is too addicting. To bed I go,for real now.

By Blogger blairbecky, at 12/19/2004 10:07 AM

  • I just spent 45 mins deleting cookies and voting. Oh dear! I had to help Brendan and my girl Kaitlin out (I love Jenny Thompson, but Kaitlin rawks!) Did what I could for now..I have a Xmas party to get ready for, so I'll check in with our Commander and Lt. later!

Stephie Mc - Over and Out (I don't have a title, I'm just another private reporting for duty! =) )

By Blogger Stephie Mc, at 12/19/2004 10:21 AM

  • CCBHO checking in... I'm heading to the vote area right now. sorry about the delay, I'm at my parents adn my mom insists on me resting b/c of my sickness.
Mrs H, Aunt C, Aunt K, thanks for the lovely words. I feel really honored. But this is a team effort, we can make it if we work together.
I do have one favor to ask to Mrs H. You can relax it does not involve your son, any tattoo and a polaroid. It just wondered if you could share one of your cookies recipes with me, b/c I want to do some for my grandmother for Christmas day.
    Thanks and keep on voting.

By Blogger Lena, at 12/19/2004 12:35 PM

  • Hello Ladies...just returned from back to back sessions of watching my kids swim in a really loooooooong swim meet! Resumed my delete cookies/refresh/vote regimen...and am proud to see we are again in the lead! You all watch ..Swim Info will next be doing a story on the rivalry between Hansen and Piersol fans. They will focus on our fearless Argentine bow wielding leader..how she singlehandedly inspired her fellow bloggers to neglect those things most important to them during this most joyous season...and vote, vote, VOTE!!
Well Lena, I'm trying to make up for lost time. I figure we need at least a 10% lead before retiring for the evening. Those Piersol fans don't know who their dealing with!

By Blogger Aunt "C", at 12/19/2004 1:00 PM

  • I know Aunt C, I know... they're getting close, but we're not losing ground. Thing is... we are good at spreading. Since Pumpkin has fans all over the world, we spread the votes in different time zones, hence is a 24 hour campaign. (This might be a good time to recruit Cousin Hansen in Singapore).
Besides, they should know better that mess with an Argentinean Girl with Italian/Spanish/Hungarian roots.
Keep voting, keep voting. And this is a time to share with family. Make your family vote too!

By Blogger Lena, at 12/19/2004 1:16 PM

  • CCBHO, I will send you a recipe for my family's favorite cookie. Do I just but it up on the Blog? Let me know my orders asap.
Also, something I should share with everyone. Brendan saw he was in the lead and called his agent, Evan. Told him, "hey man, look who the peoples choice is". he left a message on his cell phone. This really is too funny!
    Mrs H.

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 12/19/2004 1:55 PM

  • ahah..oh man, let me tell you. reading all of that just made my day. you all are too amusing.

As a member of the BHO army, i have also been voting/deleting cookies/voting again for a good hour this morning. if any more is needed from me, i simply await the orders.

    *salutes*

By Blogger Sarah, at 12/19/2004 2:11 PM

  • This may be kind of late in the game to ask but what exactly does it delete when it deletes cookies?
Just like your favorites section or what?

By Blogger Anna, at 12/19/2004 2:27 PM

  • alright girls. i found a easier way to do this whole re-voting thing.
i set my internet privacy setting to "Block all Cookies" therefore dont need to go delete them after every vote--b/c the computer just doesnt save them at all. if anyone doesnt know what im talking about, just let me know :D

By Blogger Sarah, at 12/19/2004 3:18 PM

  • Brendan was momentarily out of the lead again, but i've been voting/deleting/voting for the past 30 min and he's back on top. I know Sarah was helping out as well... probably more of you as well. Good job everyone!

    *salutes*

By Blogger afadingvoice, at 12/19/2004 3:30 PM

  • Hey Sarah, how do you block cookies exactly?

By Blogger Anna, at 12/19/2004 3:34 PM

  • Sarah...thanks for the tip..one question..as I was voting the new way you suggested, the tally never appeared after the vote was cast. Was this you experience as well?

By Blogger Aunt "C", at 12/19/2004 3:34 PM

  • This post has been removed by a blog administrator.

By Blogger Sarah, at 12/19/2004 3:44 PM

  • anna--you go to tools at the top of the screen and then go down to internet options. click the privacy tab..and then set it to the highest level which is 'block all cookies' hope that helps

aunt c--the final tally pops up once i hit vote, but when you go back to the swiminfo.com voting page, the tally doesnt show up on the side..it's just the voting box once again. is that what you are getting?

By Blogger Sarah, at 12/19/2004 3:45 PM

  • Great work team... It's hard and it's tight but we can do it. I adore Aarbear, I do... but Pumpkin is my number one!
He seriously called his agent? OMG, that sounds funny.

Mrs H, you can post it in the blog or if you want to keep it private and secret, email me at lenfaz@gmail.com.

Thanks! I0m sure my grandma is going to love them.

    Keep voting, keep voting.

By Blogger Lena, at 12/19/2004 3:53 PM

  • This thread is killing me, LOL. Too funny that Brendan called his agent, teeheeheeheehee. As far as a voteoff between AarBear and BrenBear, what's a girl to do if she wants them both to win? (Vote for both and at least knock Phelps off the list?!) They need a "Hansol" or "Peirsen" vote. LOL.

Seriously, I'm beginning to believe my computer is contagious. I woke up sick this morning. BAH! Maybe it's just withdrawal symptoms from finishing up with all the pics here. ;-)

By Blogger crackinup, at 12/19/2004 3:54 PM

  • Sarah, thanks for the help!

By Blogger Anna, at 12/19/2004 4:11 PM

  • Thats right Bren, call up your agent and tell him whats up! the people have spoken! especially our little bunch here. hehe still sick but i know im in good company. happy voting!
oh and pumpkin, if you are near a computer, post and say hello

By Blogger jenny, at 12/19/2004 4:14 PM

  • CCBHO here...
    Actually, I like that idea.

Pumpkin, we're working hard in here for you. I'm not gonna ask for a tattoo pic (although we deserve it) but some words of encouragement would be nice.

This is your Commander speaking, btw.

We're still at the lead but is thight. Aaron seems to have relentless fans too.

    Keep voting.

By Blogger Lena, at 12/19/2004 4:21 PM

  • After voting for a while you get kind of delirious. I found myself voting for Michael Phelps once. I really don't know how that happend.

By Blogger Anna, at 12/19/2004 4:33 PM

  • hah no problema anna, just remember to reset it after. i forgot to do it this morning and couldnt figure out why i couldnt log on to any websites im registered at
    :-p

and maybe the voting delirium is hwta caused the few votes that i saw cheatajima had. was i the only one taken aback..and left pondering how that happened? *scratches head*

10-4 and all that jazz. *salutes*

By Blogger Sarah, at 12/19/2004 5:05 PM

  • I apologize all, I haven't been doing my part on the voting, and I'm feeling guilty. I voted for Brendan once, and went to bed-that was Friday night, and I haven't moved since. At least the meds have kicked in; the fever is gone, but the tonsils are still killing me. I guess I have a date tomorrow with a doctor and a not so "pretty stick" going into my arm. Now that I am somewhat alive and completely disgusted that I have missed out on 6 days of beautiful 80 degree LA weather, I will take out my frustrations on Mr. Peirsol. Sorry Aaron, I'm sure you are a great guy, but you're going down.

By Blogger No Good User Names Left, at 12/19/2004 5:10 PM

  • Those who are sick, please take care. I know first hand what is like. Get all the rest you can and go to the doctor tomorrow.

It's pretty much a technical tie by now. We need to keep on voting!

I promised Michelle I was going to hold the fort while she's goen looking at the wonders of the Kroller Muller Museum brought to Atlanta. Mean, they even have a Juan Gris in there!!

Sorry, your CCBHO lost it to her other passion besides Pumpkin, Art and Museums.

Back to voting. 10-4. Cambio y fuera

By Blogger Lena, at 12/19/2004 6:32 PM

  • CCBHO - I'm back and reporting for duty after eating way too much and getting the worst "Yankee Swap" gift ever! If you all do yankee swaps (I think it's a New England thing, but I'm not sure) my advice is just say no or you too could end up with the "crappy" gift like me! =(

Anyway, just wanted to let you know I was back and doing my job! =)

By Blogger Stephie Mc, at 12/19/2004 6:41 PM

  • Good to have you back, Tigger.
What is a "Yankee Swap"? I'm afraid my ideas on the topic might been inaccurate.
We're at the lead again but by short margin. We need more votes!

By Blogger Lena, at 12/19/2004 7:16 PM

  • I've been a little slack today on the voting front-sorry Bren Bear, been busy baking up a storm with mom. But I am happy to say I am back on and I'm gonna be voting for at least an hour..most likely more tonight! Sorry Peirsol fans, us Hansen fans aren't gonna let our man down!

By Blogger LongHornLove, at 12/19/2004 7:20 PM

  • ah, the yankee swap. helping people perfect the fake "i love it" when opening a christmas gift. i think there has only bee one time when i actually ended up with something i vaguely liked.

By Blogger Sarah, at 12/19/2004 7:29 PM

  • CCBHO - "Yankee Swap" is a game where you bring a wrapped gift. Everyone who brings a gift gets a gift. Everyone draws a number. The person who picks number 1 goes first. They unwrap a gift. Then the person who is number 2 picks a gift. They can keep the gift they pick or they can swap it for the gift number 1 has. Number 3 goes and can keep the gift they pick or what number 1 or 2 has, etc. This goes on until all the gifts are open. Whoever has number 1 then gets to go again and pick any gift they want. It's fun, unless you get the gift no one wants which I did...a Red Sox plate. Now, a Red Sox plate isn't really awful, but why do I want a Red Sox plate?? Ugghh! So anyway, I'm mad I got stuck with the crappy gift.

No New York Yankees (boo! No one wants them anyway!) were swapped, and no "yankees" meaning people from the northern states, were swapped. Although if that were an option, I know a couple of yankees I could go for! (I'm not naming names, but you know who you are *coughhandsomecoughcutiemchottiecough*)

I'm still voting and will continue to do so as long as I possibly can! =)

By Blogger Stephie Mc, at 12/19/2004 7:35 PM

  • I got dizzy just by reading that explanation...
I'm off for the night, I need some rest and sleep.
But I'll be back tomorrow morning.

    I'd trust you'll vote.

And Mrs H, don't forget the recipe!

Love to all, 10-4. Cambio y fuera

By Blogger Lena, at 12/19/2004 7:37 PM

  • haha lena it sounds really confusing/complicated..but it makes sense once you get down to doing it.

basically...it sucks to draw the #2 but if you get a higher #..like 12 out of 12. you'll make out well. i usually end up getting like 3 or 4..which isnt so great

By Blogger Sarah, at 12/19/2004 7:58 PM

  • aha! i've played that game before, but i've never heard it referred to it that way before. Perhaps because i now live in the South and referring to anything fun as "Yankee" would just be plain wrong... at least that's what the native southernors around me say. I'm just a transplanted Yankee. go figure.

By Blogger afadingvoice, at 12/19/2004 8:09 PM

  • Brendan, my friend & I both have to know if u are single!!! please let us know

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 12/19/2004 8:46 PM

  • I realize we have some weary soldiers. I, for one, am turning in after voting 10 more times. (Those Peirsol fans are worthy competitors!!)
I caught Uncle B up on the status of the poll. He reminded me that Phelps did have a pretty good year. I reminded HIM that this wasn't about the best swimmers...nooo sir....it's about the best FANS!
btw...Brendan is not married..he is single...don't know that he is dating anyone in particular.

By Blogger Aunt "C", at 12/19/2004 9:25 PM

  • Must...keep...voting...can't let grandma...or Handsome...down...zzzzzzzzzzz

By Blogger Stephie Mc, at 12/19/2004 10:17 PM

  • I think I am getting "Voter's Finger" from all this clicking of the mouse. But its a small price that I am happy to pay-its worth it. I am determined to get and keep Bren at number one! But you know Bren...if you posted a lil message on here...it might just motivate us all a little more~wink wink!

By Blogger LongHornLove, at 12/19/2004 10:26 PM

  • Ok, I got home, turned on my computer and voted until Brendan was back in the lead.

LOL at you all trying to encite Brendan to post. If he posted everytime you wanted him too he'd never have time for training. ;)

By Blogger Michelle, at 12/19/2004 11:57 PM

  • I really do know it's "incite" not "encite". I've just been hypnotized by all the clicking and revolving cookies.

Mrs. H - I meant to say earlier, please post the recipe here on the blog. I need ideas. Actually, anyone who has a good recipe feel free to post it. I'll try to find something worthy myself.

By Blogger Michelle, at 12/20/2004 12:36 AM

  • Are we sure that changing the cookie setting works? Some types of internet polls dont count the vote unless the cookies are active and counted. I think that after you vote, when the current percentages appear, that is how you know that your vote has been counted. That could explain some of the current results (or there are just lots of people voting for Aaron). I could be totally wrong though. I was just wondering.

(and this is my first post! Ive been all sorts of busy graduating from UGA).

  • Woo! I'm at work, where the computer uses IE, and I know how to reset cookies. (Because after using a Mac for four months, I STILL don't know how to reset cookies on Safari.) I'll now go vote. A lot!

Hey, has anyone else seen that episode of Sports Night where there's an online poll about who's cooler, Dan or Casey. And Casey stays up all night voting for himself. ...or maybe I'm the only one who relates everything ever to some pop-culture reference. *g*

By Blogger Angie, at 12/20/2004 2:13 AM

  • CCBHO in here.
I'm heading off to more blood test but I'd be back to vote later.

  • Angie, I've seen that episode of "Sports Night" (what a great show!). Casey was so funny staying up all night, but what we really need is that little device that Jeremy made that automatically voted for Casey thousands or millions of times an hour. That way no one here would end up with "voter's finger." Hee!

By Blogger AimsRos, at 12/20/2004 5:09 AM

  • Oh wow, I'd somehow forgotten about the Jeremy thing!

Do we have any mad computer geniuses on the Brendan Blog?

(BTW - while Dan was cooler, Casey was hotter. *g*)

    Off to vote again!

By Blogger Angie, at 12/20/2004 6:21 AM

  • I woke up to see that we got some snow, not too much but enough to put a smile on my face..I'm sure I'll have plenty of it when I get to Michigan. Oh well, off to the polls to vote:)Hope everyone has a good day!

By Blogger LongHornLove, at 12/20/2004 6:51 AM

  • BTW-Lena hope everything goes okay!!

By Blogger LongHornLove, at 12/20/2004 6:52 AM

  • I loved Sports Night! Seriously, that was a great show.
I'm doign better, just be thankful you don't have coagulation problems, cause the tests are not funny.

Heading to vote after some breakfast.

By Blogger Lena, at 12/20/2004 7:00 AM

  • I know this is probably just me an my twisted mind but in the first pic the look on the guy behind Brendan's face kind of reminded me of the Blue Steel look in Zoolander.

By Blogger Dana, at 12/20/2004 7:07 AM

  • Dana-don't worry its not just you..after you said it I noticed it too!

By Blogger LongHornLove, at 12/20/2004 7:22 AM

  • I feel like such a slacker. I slept all day yesterday and just now got off of work. Don't fire me,Lena. I'm about to get back on the voting thing. Hope everyone is feeling better. Mrs.H,you should share the recipe on here. That's a great idea. I'm at the point where I'm starting to save recipes. Everytime I see one in a magazine, etc. I rip it out. I'm trying to become more of a cook instead of all the fast food. Well,I'm off. Check back later,Commander.

By Blogger blairbecky, at 12/20/2004 7:23 AM

  • Attention Troops: Handsome is back in the lead!!

Those Aar-Bear fans sure are worthy competitors, but they are going down. We will not surrender!! I'm online all day and I will not give up the fight!

As for recipes - Michelle (and everyone) do you just want cookie recipes? I have a couple of good ones, but I have some other treat recipes that are also yummy!

By Blogger Stephie Mc, at 12/20/2004 8:27 AM

  • Stephie Mc-I'm with you today...I've already been voting since about 7:30 this morning, and I wanna get Bren a huge lead on Peirsol! (Sorry Aaron:)

By Blogger LongHornLove, at 12/20/2004 8:31 AM

  • I'm waiting for my *beep* cablemodem connection. YThey were supposed to be here 2 hours ago. I should mentioned to them I have a bow.
As soon as this is settled and I've kissed dial up goodbye, I'm on it 24/7, team.
Cover for me for a while, then I got your backs.

    Michelle, how was the Museum?

By Blogger Lena, at 12/20/2004 8:34 AM

  • Good Morning everyone. I sent Lena a cookie recipe at her e-mail address. It is the favorite of the family's. She can share it with you if the Commander feels the troops are doing there duty in the polls. I have to say I am getting a little nervous as to what swiminfo is going to say about all this when they find out. Can you imagine what they must be thinking???? If I get arrested for doing this, at least I had fun and many laughs for doing the crime.
Aunt K had another good point about the voting. California time difference is probably why you see an increase in voting for Aaron in the pm hours. God please forgive me! Mrs.H

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 12/20/2004 8:50 AM

  • Oooh! Any goodie recipes would be appreciated. Stephie,I said hi to you over at Kaitlin's site. What a cute girl that Kaitlin is. She is one of my favorites but I wanted Jenny to get something her last year swimming. Actually,it doesn't matter anymore because I gave up on all the other catagories...lol. What other catagories????

Mrs.H,Aunt K,Aunt C...I've thought about this and I know what y'all can get all of us for Christmas. A picture of Sean and Brendan together would work. Now I know it's pretty close to Christmas to be telling you this but I will accept late gifts. :p

By Blogger blairbecky, at 12/20/2004 8:55 AM

  • SCORE! I figured out how to delete cookies in Safari! Now I can vote multiple times from home.

By Blogger Angie, at 12/20/2004 9:23 AM

  • blairbecky - I thought that was you over on Kaitlin's site. She is very cool, my fave swimgirl. =) I love Jenny too, but Kaitlin is just awesome. Although at this point, I am all about defeating the Aaron fans. I love me some Peirsol, but like I said before, we will not surrender!

Mrs H - I will start putting aside bail money for us all just in case. On the plus side, if any of us go down, the aer-bear fans are coming with us! =)

I'll post recipes later today. Right now, I am back to voting, voting, voting! =)

By Blogger Stephie Mc, at 12/20/2004 9:26 AM

  • What's Kaitlin's site? She is second swim girl crush, ok well maybe third right behind Inge and Natalie.

By Blogger Dana, at 12/20/2004 9:49 AM

  • Dana - Kaitlin's site is www.misskaitlin.com Like Brendan, she also posts there. It's a fairly new site, so the more the merrier!

By Blogger Stephie Mc, at 12/20/2004 9:52 AM

  • how can i vote over and over again? every time i try to refresh the page, the poll results just keep coming up....

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 12/20/2004 11:14 AM

  • You need to go to Tools, Internet Options and clear your cookies.
    then refresh the site.

The people from cablemodem haven't showed up yet. Your CCBHO is raving mad right now

By Blogger Lena, at 12/20/2004 11:18 AM

By Blogger Lena, at 12/20/2004 3:21 PM

  • Hey all,

I'm a good friend of Lena's, and I've basically been lurking through this board for a while (Getting the link via Lena) And I figured I'd post for once.

Okay, admittedly not a fan of swimming, but the supportive friend of Lena's I am, I've been voting for Brendan continuously for the best swimmer etc. I find that reading his (Your) posts on this makes me really find you to be intriguing. You aren't as self-centered as I though an Olympic medalist would be :P... sorry, can't help it.

So, in conclusion to my pointless post, keep up the good work, Brendan, and you've got an awesome group of supporters in here... especially Lena, who loves you to death.

    ~ Christie

  • ~ Just a note... Lena is playing hard to get... so, no Brendan, she's not madly in love with you.
