More about the hockey game, etc.
And we have a BHOer who will be in attendance and taping the coverage at home (YAY VERBAL!), so we'll have nice video of the event for everyone to enjoy. I wish I could go.
Also, another of our lovely bloggers, Kimberly, sent me some photos of the trio that she took at Indy Worlds. Only one of Brendan...(we'll have to talk about that later Kimberly.

jaja... that was really funny.
Steph and I had something like that last night.
But Robin Hood? In the looks maybe, but I've never seen Aaron near a bow. And for the life of me, I really cannot picture him with one.
Where are the Hansens? We miss them!

Lena - I'm pretty sure bellanut was talking about the looks. It's all about the eyes and the curls.
...though I'd totally pay to see Aaron in tights.
What?

Angie, at 12/28/2004 11:25 AM
Hellloooo Aer-Bear! ;)
Lena - Remember, what happens on AIM stays on AIM! hee ;)
Bren-Bear - Still love ya! ;)
Cutie McHottie - Don't get jealous, I can't help it if Aaron looks hot! You're still gorgeous, I promise! ;)

Remember, what happens on AIM stays on AIM! hee ;)Or, if you're me, what happens on AIM gets posted on LJ, on OG, on blogs, and occasionally in the liner notes of mix CDs.
:)
I'm not bad. I'm just drawn that way. Really!

Michelle-Have you been holding out on us???? After reading the 20 questions, it sounds like Brendan is going to crank up his involvement with BHO!! Is this your New Years gift to us all??? I hope Brendan keeps his word by passing along goodies (self portraits with that new camera will do) and posts often!

YES! I love you Michelle! Thanks for getting those pictures up. For everyone's information, that is my arm next to Aaron. I cut my self out of the picture, because well...I can.
In my defense..Brendan, you kick @#*...but you were VERY busy the day I was there. I am a fan, but a nice one, so I did not want to bother. I was there on Friday and I think he had two races that night, and heats. I caught Aaron after the heats, which he wasn't even a part of. So there you go!
I am so excited all over again! He He He He. Indy was crazy that weekend. My brother-in-law works downtown, right across from Conseco, and he said he has never seen anything like it. Brendan can vouch for me, there were about 300 people in the streets friday night. Poor Ian Crocker was in the middle of the street signing autographs for a good 20 minutes. Bren-Bear was safe and sound on the side walk! It was so much fun, for the fans, and apparently for the swimmers too. I am telling you the truth when I say it was crazier then any *Nsync concert I've been to (ok back in the day when I was 16, forgive me of my musical sins.)
And Mrs. H, you should be very proud that you raised such a nice young man, two I'm sure, but Sean has yet to post!

INDY was crazy....Im looking forward to the Trials in April, hopefully the turn out will be just as great. I was there Friday and Saturday and the swimmers were all great about taking pictures and signing anything and everything, even though they were trying to walk back to the hotel.
We ran into Aaron and Brendan Friday night when they were walking back to the athletes village and Aaron some how broke away from the crowd while we were still taking pictures with BrenBear, and Brendan was so cute....once he realized aaron had taken off he ran after him hollern' for him to wait up....they were walking down one side of the street and we were now on the other....but let me tell you that it took all, I mean ALL of my self control to keep from running across the street and getting another picture.
By
Kate, at 12/28/2004 4:38 PM
It's okay Kimberly,I went to a Nsync concert when I was 22. I mean I used the excuse that I was taking my 7 year old neice but I wanted to go. Even my sister, who was 27 went with us. It was her daughter so she had to go too,for parental guidance and all...lol. Indy was great but I wasn't brave enough to ask for autographs.

VERBAL -- Have a great time at the hockey game tomorrow night! Don't forget the video camera. Also, you might want to tie a ribbon or something to the camera so you can attach it to yourself. That way in case you faint or whatever, you don't have to worry about losing it! ;)
By
AimsRos, at 12/28/2004 8:43 PM
bellanut actually went and made the Aaron Hood manip.I bow to her skill. And giggle. A lot.
By
Angie, at 12/29/2004 6:04 AM
Lol...Y'all do the funniest stuff. I don't know how to do any of that photo manip business. I'm lucky that I can get on here and post. I think the look suits him.

YEAH! I got my picture taken with Robin Hood. I have to say, this is one of my all time favorite pictures of Aaron (I swear not because his hand is on me!)I think I showed everyone I knew (and some I didn't) this picture because I was SO excited. I'm glad to see other people are enjoying it too. Even if you guys did make him look like Robin Hood. Wait, does that make Ian and Brendan his "merry men"??????? LOL!

So about the game, I got there a bit early only to discover the arena was totally packed with cars. Unfortunately, Disney On Ice was going on right across the street. Who knew those things were so popular? So I hiked from the far regions of the the $10 parking lot to the arena.
I had front row seats right behind the blue line which was both good and bad. Good in the sense that I was right on eye level with everything, bad in the sense that every time the puck went onto my side of the rink the referee had to stand right in front of me and wave his arms to indicate whether it was icing or not. Plus that glass that you sit behind is pretty banged up and gross so it's hard to get a clear view out of it.
This cute children's choir came out to sing the anthem. Brendan came out to drop the puck around 7. I realized later that this part wasn't broadcast on tv (sorry guys). He had a white Phantoms jersey on. They basically rolled out a carpet for him to walk on, and he walked out to center ice and waved to everybody, held up the puck, dropped it, and watched as the players fought to get posession of it. Then he waved and walked off. I think the whole thing lasted about 60 seconds.
Unfortunately, my pics didn't come out all that well. :/ In addition to being behind the icky glass, Brendan was basically walking or moving around the entire time, and when he wasn't moving he had his back to me. I couldn't very well scream, "Brendan! Stand still! I need to get this shot! Do 'blue steel' or something!" So I got what I got. Hopefully some others got some better pics.
There was a nice crowd there. Basically the lower bowl was filled and about half of the upper bowl. A lot of families and kids come to these games because they're pretty inexpensive and the games are usually pretty exciting (i.e. lots of checking and fights). Very different from the Flyers crowd. 2 minutes into the game a slap shot ended up cracking the glass and it took forever for them to replace it.
So it's dragging on a bit and I decide I'm going to leave early. I get all of my stuff together and put on my jacket and walk up the steps and onto the concourse. I hang a left to walk to the exit and guess who is standing between the concession stand and the trash can? Oh, that's right. It's Brendan by himself and he's busy downing a soft pretzel.
So I'm like EEK! I'm a bit freaked out, but I know Michelle will drive up from Alabama and kick my butt I don't at least say hi. So I go up to Brendan and ask him for a picture, temporarily forgetting that the guy was in the middle of eating, but I wanted to catch him before he left. So, I'm sorry about the ambush. So Brendan nods (he can't actually talk because he's busy eating).
He says, "Is that all you want?" I'm like, "Uh...uh...yeah, is that okay?" He says, "Sure. Would you like my brother to take a picture of the both of us?" I'm like "Uh...uh...yeah. That would be great!" So poor Sean comes out of line to take our picture with my camera. I felt bad because I think there were about 50 people in line behind him, so I hope they let him back in line afterward. So I say, "Thank you" and Brendan's all, "No, thank you." But my mind went completely blank and couldn't think of anything else to say, so I think I smiled and muttered thanks again and walked off.
Yep, I choked big time. I couldn't think of anything funny to say. I was originally thinking I'd end up cracking a joke about the misquote in the 20 questions interview ("So Brendan, when you're working on BHO do you prefer Notepad or Dreamweaver when you do your HTML coding?" :) "Do you want to help me out with the Video page?") or even him not feeling well ("Are you still contagious? Here, have a Vitamin C and some tea."). Still, nothing actually came out.
So yep, it was pretty embarassing but Brendan was very nice and a good sport about the whole thing. You never would have known he wasn't feeling well. Sean was very nice about taking the pic too, and frankly his pic came out a lot better than mine did.
I'll admit I was pretty annoyed that they made these guys stand in line to get some food. Couldn't they set them up in one of the boxes and serve them some food? It's an AHL game, so it's not like they'd have to kick Will Smith out to do it. Geez.
PS - Brendan is a lot taller in person than you'd probably think. I think it's all the pics he does with Aaron & Crocker. He needs to work Vendt into some of those pics so you can see how tall he actually is. :)

Verbal, at 12/30/2004 7:51 AM
That's so exciting! And you totally did better than I would've. I probably wouldn't have even gotten up the guts to ask for a picture!
By
Angie, at 12/30/2004 8:03 AM
Ahhh Verbal - A+ for effort there, girl! You did better than I would have done. I probably would have been shy about talking to Brendan too, and if I saw Sean too..seriously defib time! Sounds like a fun time anyhow..
And what's with the leading question: "Is that all you want?" I would have been at least thinking "Umm, no..what are you offering?" hee! =)
By
Stephie Mc, at 12/30/2004 8:29 AM
Verbal! I can totally sympathize, I've done that too, so I can't yell for not mentioning you were from BHO.
So, impressions of Sean? ;)
By
JHD, at 12/30/2004 8:49 AM
Verbal, you did great. I'm glad you got to get a shot of Bren. It's nice to be a fan and get to actually meet the person you adore. I was also thinking while I was reading that I would love a pretzel. The dangers of being hungry and trying to focus. :p
By
blairbecky, at 12/30/2004 9:27 AM
aw! I mentioned to him that one of the girls from the blog might be at the game and he said a girl just asked for his pic then walked away, maybe that was her. bummer!
the game was kind of slow - but lots of good fights...made me miss the NHL.
By
swimphilly78, at 12/30/2004 9:30 AM
verbal, you did fantastic.
I'm quite sure if any of us gets to meet him we would all be speechless... is one thing to be all brave in here but I'm sure if I ever ran into him I'd be like "eh... hi..." and nothing else. How sweet of him to get Sean to get the pic. And you saw Sean! Did he talk? Could you hear his voice?
I know Bren is a lot taller than he seems cause he always hangs out with really tall boys, but he's 1.83.
I cannot wait to see the pics!
By
Lena, at 12/30/2004 11:06 AM
"I know Bren is a lot taller than he seems cause he always hangs out with really tall boys, but he's 1.83."
And for us metrically-challenged gals, that means what exactly?
When he passed by me in Indy, I got a vague impression of tall from the Trio, but considering I'm 5'1", that means nothing! Actually, I was too startled by bright blue eyes to notice much beyond that. =)
By
JHD, at 12/30/2004 12:14 PM
Thanks for the recap Verbal. I'm looking forward to seeing your pictures. I can't say anything about not mentioning the blog or talking very much, because I probably would have done about the same thing if I was in your position.
By
afadingvoice, at 12/30/2004 12:20 PM
You got to see Sean and Brendan. Wow you are one lucky girl.
By
Kimberly, at 12/30/2004 12:35 PM
Awesome recap Verbal, you had me laughing out loud. Now, if you'd taken a picture of him actually eating the pretzel, I might very well have hit the floor. Props once again to Bren (and Sean!) for being such a good sport!
So do we all get to see that picture? ;-)
By
crackinup, at 12/30/2004 1:33 PM
Verbal--that was a great recap! You poor thing, I would've been struck speechless too. That was so nice of Brendan to offer his brother to take your picture together.
JHD, you're the same height as me!
By
BeachGirl, at 12/30/2004 2:28 PM
Verbal,
A-double-plus for effort. At work we call those random encounters "flybys". So you had a Pumpkin Flyby. It's all good. One day, when we have a little philly area picnic or whatever, ask me about the time I met Jeremy Shockey. I promise you, no matter how embarrassed you think you were - you'll be on your face laughing at this one.
xoxo

Thanks for letting us know about Brendan....and everytime I hear another story about Brendan I realize how great he is all over again. YEA Brendan and Sean for being so amazing. Now come out and post with us :)
By
Kate, at 12/30/2004 7:12 PM
Ahhh...(freaking out) I dont know how i would have reacted or what i would have said. but props for even attempting it. how exciting. im jealous.
By
jenny, at 12/30/2004 8:26 PM
Do you think that when Brendan asked if that was all 'verbal' wanted, he was thinking she was going to ask him for a picture of the longhorns? Just a thought.
By
Kate, at 12/30/2004 8:32 PM
Kate,I think the more important question would be if he would have at least thought about showing them...lol. I could see it now...Bren throwing his pretzel in the air when he tries to catch Verbal as she passes out. The camera would have hit the ground and the film roll out to be ruined. That would be my luck. ;p Dang,I'm still craving one of those pretzels.
