Year's Best: From UT swimmers to Olympic medalists
A nice summary article about the Texas Trio. Nothing new really but there is a video link as well.
So y'all, was Santa good to you? Tell us what you got and how you spent your holiday.

Thanks, Michelle! Even if there's no new info, any time there are photos or video, its good! As for the holiday, yesterday was the big party for all the Jewish friends, and it was fun. Santa did remember to stop by and left me a wazoo ultra 512 MB CF card for my digital camera-I am now completely ready in case one (or both) of the Handsome Brothers have car trouble in front of my house and need to use my swimming pool. (I need to be ready for that moment to share with my BHO gals!!!)

Yesterday was a good day. I have to say, it was nice to know that Aunt K was thinking of us on Christmas. Gotta love that. As nice as yesterday was, today I got my real gift. C_________O________L_______T________S W____O_____N!!!!!
P___E___Y____T___O____N broke the record......49 TD Passes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Can you tell that I live in Indiana, and that I am a HUGE colts fans? Didn't think so.

Kimberly,my dad is a huge Colts fan so I watched the game. I'm a huge Miami fan so I was excited to see Marino send out congrats to Manning. If only we could go back to when Dan was the QB maybe I would be a little more excited this season. I always say there is always next year. Can only go up from here, right?
Have to add,go Fighting Illini!!! I live in a world of obsessed Ky basketball fans. It does my heart good for my true home Il. to be on the top of the rankings again.

Go Trio! They definitely deserve to be the Year's Best! =)
As for me, Santa was very good to me. I got 2 pics of Cutie McHottie and Bren together..what more could a girl ask for? *coughapostfromSeancough* Anyway, I also got a ton of DVD's (I'm a movie junkie) a new hoodie, (also a hoodie junkie) and the piece de resistance was a new Burberry handbag I've wanted forever! My Broncos also beat up on Tenessee to stay alive in the playoff race. I hope they don't let me down! No iPod this year, but in all fairness, I asked for it kind of late in the game, and I know the one I wanted was hard to find. I'll get it eventually. =)
Christmas was spent doing that traditional things: watch "A Christmas Story", go to midnight mass, open presents in the morning, enjoy a yummy meal, and just be happy being together. All in all GOOD TIMES! =)

I had a great day. It actually started off kind of melancholy, but by lunch all my son's friends were over playing video games just like back when they were younger, piled up on his bed and in the floor, eating all my leftovers and being loud and obnoxious as boys do. I traditionally get them all a weapon for Christmas because it's fun to watch them abuse each other. Year before last it was pig catapults, last year potato guns and this year it was nerf guns with laser sights. All men become 14 again with a Nerf gun in their hands. I had my Lord of the Rings crossbow which inflicted way more pain than the nerf bullets. I know this because they told me everytime I shot them with it. :D (I told y'all I'm eville ;) After a long day of video games and Nerf gun wars my neighbors and I took all the boys to IHOP for a late dinner. It was fabulous.
As far as gifts go, I got a lurvely new digital camera and my son got his amp and a mini ipod. I took some pics of him at band practice tonight with my new camera. Tuning up on his new amp, rockin' the mandolin, and just plain rocking out. This is likely to be the last Christmas they are all able to get together so it was really nice to spend it the same way they've spent the last 6 or 7.

This was a very good article by the way. I am however, left a little confused. I though Aaron was going to continue training in Texas. Huh? No more trio?

Kimberly, at 12/26/2004 11:49 PM
The Trio would always live, regardless the distance.
My Christmas was quiet. On the 4th we had a noce dinner with my parents and my sister and procedeed to our traditional movie moment: we watched this movie which name I cannot remember but it was pretty good. We woke up early on the 25th and I baked Mrs H's cookies and my mom made the lamb. Later on my grandparents and aunt came for lunch, carrying the almighty matambre de pollo I crave every christmas. Then we just hang out. The cookies were the success of the evening, especially my dad's face
"You got the recipe from who?"
"Mrs H, dad, Brendan's mom. You know, the Olympic Gold Medalist, the one we watched at Indy the other day..."
"But how do you know them? And why this lovely lady takes time to give you a cookie recipe?"
It was real funny to explain...
As for gifts, I got blue lingerie, a ring from my sister to match the Irish promise ring she got me last year, a little box for my jewellry, a dress, a tank top and a bracelet. But the loveliest came from a friend of mine in Canada. I write fanfiction, so she dowloaded the first 3 stories I've ever written, all of them a based on a character I created (Bella) and she put them together in a word document. Then she made the cover as if it were a book and she wrote "Bella's trilogy" with my name on it. She then told me, here's your first novel. Now you have to write the second.
It was a thoughtful and amazing gift.

I got a lump of coal in my stocking.....Family joke, my dad and I always say that every year.
Actually what I got for Chanukkah was money from the parents, a gift certificate from my brother (so now I'm getting Regency House Party on DVD, a Great Big Sea CD (Turn) and pre-ordered the new Harry Potter), something from my best friend(hasn't come in the mail yet, so I have no idea what it is), candy from co-workers, and a bunch of postcards/"special" cards from a group of awesome OG ladies.

JHD, you're right! How could I forget the lovely postcards I got from all over the world courtesy from the OG ladies! They're still coming, you know? I get so happy each time the mail delivers one.

Hey y'all! It was AWFUL weather here on Christmas day--cold, rainy, windy. They actually had a few snow flurries in my hometown, but all we had was rain. We had breakfast and presents over at my in-laws' house, went home to watch our new DVDs, then later went back and had a big dinner. The baby boys had a good time opening all their presents--the biggest one was a dual screen DVD player for the van from my parents. I'm happiest with my new stand mixer and a new toaster oven (yes, I'm easily amused by kitchen appliances and gadgets), but I was really glad to see my brother at home last week. I probably won't be able to see him for a long time since he'll be in San Diego until May, when he gets transferred to Naples, Italy (he's a Navy officer). The boys had a good time wrestling and play fighting with their uncle.

Kimberly - I read that Aaron would be back at UT in the Spring but also read he'd be back in January. Who knows really. Maybe he's found himself a woman on the west coast and has decided not to leave.
By
Michelle, at 12/27/2004 2:19 PM
Michelle...that is not possible. I do not live on the west coast, I like in Indiana. LOL!

Kimberly, at 12/27/2004 3:27 PM
Maybe he's found himself a woman on the west coast and has decided not to leave."Hey, Aaron, they want to know if you've found yourself a wo-man over here on the west coast."
"Of course, atrophy! You're here!"
See? He's safe. In my apartment. (loves De Nile)

My favorite gifts this year were the ones I didn't expect to get. My dad told me he'd get me Garden State on DVD, and since that doesn't come out until today, I didn't expect to have anything under the tree from him. But he also got me the ROTK extended edition.
My sisters and I had all agreed not to exchange gifts, but my youngest sister broke that and got me the cutest slippers ever. I've been wearing them at work this week and I'm so much less cold!
By
Angie, at 12/28/2004 7:36 AM
Those ARE the cutest slippers ever Angie.

Angie,I have a friend named Angie that would love those. She's obsessed with Hello Kitty. She even has the toboggan (sp?) with the kitty ears on top.

I think my sister got The Cutest Slippers Ever at Target.
I'm such a dork. My checks have Hello Kitty on them. I swear I'm not really twelve.
