  • Did y'all see where LB didn't put in for the '08 Trials? Something about they still owe money. Here is a little bit of the article.

Long Beach's decision leaves other cities in the running for the swim trials leading up to the 2008 games in Beijing.

Indianapolis; San Antonio; St. Louis; Omaha, Neb.; St. Paul, Minn., and Chapel Hill, N.C., have expressed interest in the event, said Dean Ekeren, USA Swimming's national events director. The group was hoping to receive a bid from Long Beach, he said, after receiving positive feedback from the 2004 event.

I will take either St. Louis or Indy please. :p Same distance for me to both.

  • CHAPEL HILL! CHAPEL HILL! CHAPEL HILL!!!!!!!

*ahem* What I meant to saw is that I think Chapel Hill would be a lovely place for the 2008 Olympic Trials to be held.

  • For the love of San Antonio! YES. When will they decide?

  • So I take it no one was in Nebraska this week?

Squirt already moved didn't she? The one person who might have been in a position to see them, and she moves! What was she thinking? ;)

  • yep, check off another vote for San Antonio!!!...about an hour from Austin?..yep i could totally do that.

  • I just hope that there is a BHO-er in the vicinity of whatever place they choose. And I'd like to stake my claim right now for a spot on whoever's floor.

By Blogger Sarah, at 1/14/2005 1:36 PM

  • Dude, no. The trials belong in Long Beach. COME BACK TO LONG BEACH, OLYMPIC SWIMMERS.

    By Blogger a, at 1/14/2005 5:28 PM

  • Nooo...PLEASE not LB....been there done that....and REALLY dont think I can do that again....even with the drugs and tequila (well, maybe I could but will definitely need some bho'ers there cause I really dont think I could hold the signs again and if they are there you guys will finally know what I am talking about).

Last time I spoke with Bren and asked him about this he was hoping either San Antonio or LB....so I am going with San Antonio. You know how you guys go on and on about the tats, (know I am not supposed to mention it)...you see them in your sleep, dream about them etc etc....well I see those LB stands and have freakin nightmares about them...being 15 stories in the air...shaking...signs dropping...feeling like you are hung over after Bren's race, (probably because I was)I am telling you a nightmare....its gotta be in San Antonio.....

  • I vote San Antonio with Aunt K. (We missed you this week!). San Antonio is driving distance, sort of. I mean, it's a LONG drive, but doable. And cowboys!

By Blogger Michelle, at 1/14/2005 7:38 PM

  • Im pulling for St Louis or Indy....both close enough to go to.

By Blogger Kate, at 1/14/2005 7:38 PM

  • Hey Aunt K! We havn't seen you since you dropped that brithday bomb on Aunt C! I know you don't love my Long Beach, and I think it is hillarious that you meke parallels between our sweet soapy tattoo dreams (which I am not suppsed to mention either) and your nightmares of Long Beach! I am not speaking about another swimming event either. ...untll the World Championships is decided once and for all.

  • Aw, you guys. Swimming belongs in SoCal. Maybe in San Diego? My apartment is open to guests. Well. Let me be specific. Hot swimming boys. ;)

    By Blogger a, at 1/14/2005 8:41 PM

  • Well, I cannot travel anyway.. but San Antonio looks good. If I win the lottery or something, I can travel to go see Brendan and also go see another Olympic Gold Medalist while at it. You know, Ginobili in the Spurs...

  • HI Aunt K...*waves*..we missed you! Personally, I am hoping for Indy. I've already offered to buy the first round of drinks if held there! Now I know you are all rooting for Indy!

PS. We are now taking part in the day light savings thing(UGHHHHHH!!!! I'm to lazy to learn how to set the clock back, and re adjust my life to that!)so if held there, you guys won't be so confused on the time.

  • NC please!!!! I'm only 1 state away, =).

Welcome back Aunt K, :). Did Aunt C do any bodily harm to you since you surprised her by posting her "pic" here?? ;) Oh, something along the lines of breaking your hands/fingers?? LOL

    *only kidding Aunt C, :)*

  • Ahh, thanks for missing me, but I was checking in and laughing as usual especially at the challenge.

About Aunt C's birthday, only thing I can say is she has an awesome husband who gave her a great gift for her 40th think I should let her tell ya about it....then dinner with her friends and sisters at a Thai restr. we had an awesome time, laughed til I cried. I dont think there will any negative consequences for me about releasing her b-day info until about June, which is when I will go into hiding....but my sister Mrs H has a b-day in June too which may overshadow mine since she will be hitting a milestone too....but my lips are sealed now cause then I will have two sister getting back at me....anyone know a good place for me to hide....think Im gonna need it.
