Ok, someone tell me how much money I just spent
Because I'm not good with the math.
Montreal is under the gun, ticket sales are low and sponsors hard to find. If you want to see Montreal and you've been thinking about buying tickets now might be a good time to do it.
No pressure Brendan - but you'd better be there.

Hi All-
Someone posted a few days ago that there was a possibility that the Worlds would be cancelled if the money situation in Canada doesn't improve, and allegedly Long Beach wasn't prepared to host. Any truth to that rumor? I sure do hope the Canadians can pull it together, but to be honest, I hope it ends up in Long Beach. Selfish reasons really, since it is close to home and I wouldn't need to book a hotel. Does anyone know if Brendan is swimming in the M of O Duel in the Pool on August 2?

Wow, maybe im just clueless but i had no idea that tickets to a swimming event cost that much! I would sooo love to go to Trials or worlds this year. I guess im with a lot of people that being in college really makes it hard to pony up the cash....but then again it is pumkin we are talking about here. we'll see i guess

Darn,I posted in the wrong place. Now I'm too lazy to retype it. Oh well.
Back to the subject,I think you spent close to $700 because I did figure it up one day. I'm still going to Montreal but haven't bought my tickets yet. I'm putting all my money towards my Italy trip and refuse to touch it. I know how I am and if I start dipping,it will be gone. So I'm waiting for my taxes to get back before buying tickets. You see,I love you and all Bren, but it's Italy for goodness sake. :p I did think about how low the ticket sales were because nobody was buying them if the WC weren't going to happen. I wish I could go ahead and buy them but I just can't. Sorry.

Well, I've been saving for Torino 2006 - have always wanted to go to the Olympics and getting to see Italy at the same time is a great bonus. I hadn't really planned on spending so much money on a Montreal trip just 6 months before the Olympics but the temptation was just too strong. And I've always wanted to see Montreal as well, so I'm hoping they aren't moved. We'll see. Someone mentioned Atlanta as a possible new location (I guess they'd use the Olympic venue there?) and if it's moved there that would be very convenient for me. Better than Dubai certainly. Fingers crossed.
