Worlds Prediction Contest

I really wanted to start this last week but with no psych sheet it's too difficult. Thank goodness Shannen found the entries. The file is HUUUUUUGE (341 pages!) but thank goodness it has a table of contents. Entries listed by event start on page 62.

So, are y'all up for this? So many events.....But I've got an autographed swim cap and a Montreal t-shirt for the winner.

  • WOOHOO I AM SO FREAKING EXCITED FOR WORLDS!!!!

Hi Michelle. when's the Men's 499 Free? I need to see that event. do they stop 1meter short of the wall? FUN! ;)

    By Blogger swimphilly78, at 7/20/2005 2:48 PM

  • Meesh,

I think what Swimphilly is trying to say is that our preferred method of selection of winners, including that Men's 499 event, will be communicated based on the NFL draft. I'm thinking about giving Lynea a mini-microphone in Montreal so she can announce our picks from the bleachers. We might make Kate our "Let's Get Ready to Rumblllllllllllllle" girl. Kim is on stereo (she has to push play). And Heather will be leading the wave from section ???, aka the random section Sebastian and his FINA ticketing friends seem to have mysteriously assigned us.

Please advise as to your preferred role in our Montreal montage. I would assume that somebody should keep the Aunts calm. :) :) :)

    Thank you.
    Dana

  • Meesh,I'm speechless. I haven't even begun to think about packing and I'm the biggest procrastinator ever. When will I have time to do all of those? I feel like I have a book report due tomorrow and I haven't even read the book yet. Pressure.... ;)

  • swimphilly - I have no idea what you are referring too. (:p)

Dana - Heather will be with me in section 16, row 2 aka "the cool section". Aunt K will be in our laps keeping lala's rum warm.

Blair - I have no idea when I'LL have time to do predictions myself. It's intimidating just looking at the list and then I start thinking about all the math afterwards. Maybe we should just do this honor system. When it's all over everyone just tell me what your score was. :d

Lena - you said you'd be in charge while I'm away. Can I put you in charge of math? :D (HA!)

By Blogger Michelle, at 7/20/2005 3:48 PM

  • Today is just to funny of a day. No time for filling out predictions as I have a four year old visiting me (who as I told some girls already..thought it would be funny to take his swim trunks off while running through the sprinkler saying "we're going streaking everybody come on...grandma bring your green hat." I really wish I was kidding, but I am not. My 4 year old nephew has seen and quotes Old School)

Dana, I'm on stereo? "check check check check check check check it out..." Why can't I be towel girl? I will gladly be stereo girl and play songs that describe each of the swimmers....

Aaron Peirsol: The Joker..Steve Miller Band "some call me the gangster of love!"

Pumkin: "P-I-M-P" by 50 is he still teaching that class this fall? Pimpology 101?

    Crockah:(for Shannen) "Sometimes"..by Brit Spears-Federline "sometimes I run, sometimes I hide..(sometimes I drop camera's on your head!)"

Phelps: "Number 1 stunna" is that Master P? Mikey would be so upset with me...I'm a white catholic school girl lagging on her rap (do they even call it that anymore?) knowledge.

Randall "the abs" Bal: If you want my body..Rod Stewart. "IF you want my body and you think I'm sexy...." OH we do!

By Blogger Kimberly, at 7/20/2005 4:02 PM

  • Kimberly,it's from Baby (guy with the tear tattoo that has a man just to carry around his bling)with the Big Tymers. I believe they call it hiphop now also. ;)

Meesh,if it's going to be judged on the honor code I'll just go ahead and tell y'all....I'm the Winner! Whoohooo. Just kidding,I've accepted my place as a prediction loser. *hangs head*

By Blogger blairbecky, at 7/20/2005 4:24 PM

  • Oh man Michelle. That's just what I needed. I take a quick break from packing to check online, and now I have a feelign I won't get much more done tonight, as I'll be slaving away at these predictions :-P

Its so crazy to look over the Psych sheet and be like.. "Damn, I'm going to be watching ALL of these people/races" Cool beans.

By Blogger Sarah, at 7/20/2005 4:46 PM

  • How did I get in the cool section? fabulous! ! ! See you there, Meesh.

I will gladly start the wave.

Dana, I think you should be in charge of importing our predictions into some excel document and attaching some rarely known swimming facts with references to predictions in the cells.

I would do it, but it's been awhile since I have played with excel and I have full confidence that you would be stellar at it:)

Sarah...you are so lucky. You are going to see them all swim.
Just reading the names makes me jealous Im not going. and checking out the times I know everyone going is going to have a blast and come home without their voices from yelling so hard.

Great plan DC. If I were going I would SO be the "Let's get ready to rumble gal."

  • I went through 4 places cause I do predictions on my own and I always feel bad about the guy who gets 4th place. They're always forgotten. ;)

I had a tough time with the women, since I don't usually watch them. And in the men's I threw in some far-out choices based on Olympic performances. I wish there was an easy way to see the meets where these entry times were swum. Unless they were like, time trials. Anyway.
