Update from Brendan and video from Timmeh!
I emailed Brendan over the weekend and asked him if he could give us an update on how he's doing. He wrote back...
Sounds pretty good to me! And yeah, I think last summer was pretty decent. Three personal bests.
Speaking of personal bests..Tim sent me some video from Michigan High School Division 2 State Meet that took place this weekend where he earned a personal best of 2:09.45 in the 200 IM.
I am looking forward to the meet trying not to get too excited since a lot will go on before I take off the blocks. The only insight I can give is that I am feeling better and more prepared than I did last summer. And looking back it was a pretty good one...I think. This is my favorite time of year to do what i love to do most....RACE. I can only control what i do.

Yay Brendan! Have a safe flight, and I'll see you in Melbourne! If you are feeling good I know you can do some serious damage in that Susie O'Neil Pool!
I have no idea that was a PB for Timmay. I am on dial up tonight and it took me about 30 minutes for it to laod. Well worth the wait. Congratulations Timmay! You are soooo bald!!

Nice job Timmay on the PB! If I am not mistaken aren't you a sophmore? Did you ever think about going to the Texas camp and getting some training? They do alot of stroke work there which on backstroke and breaststroke kick would have your time below the 2:00 marker, easily. Man you are tall!

Yay Tim! It was so neat to finally see you swim. Major congrats on the PB. I can't believe you shaved your head completely bald...lol. Very streamlined of course. :)

Nice longhorn swim camp plug Mrs. H! haha
Congrats Timmay on your personal best! :) And seriously... Texas Swim Camp seriously is the best camp to work on speed, stroke, technique... everything about swimming!

Just a heads up, we're going to run an FYI piece on Peter Bick and Tim Morse after men's NCAAs letting everyone know they will have a bunch of pictures up from the two big meets.
Also, I'm working on some other things regarding fan sites that might be exciting for you all. Can't get into here, but I'm hoping to get you all some more attention.

I'm thinking Jason must be Jason Marsteller from Swimming World Magazine for those of you wondering where to look for these wonderful things he speaks of.
We'll definitely be on the lookout!
I want to go to Longhorn Swim Camp myself. Do you know what the cutoff age is Mrs. H? ;)

Yup, tis me! Lala finally talked me into commenting on here. I'm usually a lurker everywhere.

Yeah Tim, great swim and I do think you have grown some more! Are those elbows double-jointed??
I agree with Mrs H about the summer camp. Perhaps you could go the one at Michigan with Urbancek and Bowman..a lot closer to home for you.
Yes, Michelle, that was Jason Marstellar of swimming World magazine. He actively reads the fan pages and blogs to see what is happening in cyberspace.
We had a great time in Minneapolis atht eh Women's NCAA's. It is hard to believe that Kara Lynn is now done as a college swimmer. Where did 4 years go.....?

Mr. Bick! All I have to say is the man is a machine. Knocked out all our images plus some and in timely fashion.
Not bad with a newspaper type deadline since the women's NCAA recap is going to make the April issue.
Which, for all of you on here, John Lohn wrote. It is amazing, as all of his stuff is.

Congrats to you TTS (I am not giving up on calling you that), I hope you are feeling really good about the swim and your time.
Also have to thank Michelle and Peter for letting us (actually me) know who Jason is....glad to see you are no longer a lurker Jason.
Lala....I wanted to talk to you before you left, but it doesnt seem like it will happen. Please have a safe trip and you had better have an AWESOME time. I know you will supply us with wonderful pics as you always do.
It will be an exciting meet to see and who knows, with Bren saying he is feeling as good as last summer, well I am not gonna say what will happen because it freaks Michelle out a little but we all know....and you will be there :)

Congratulations Timmay on your PB
swim. That is what swimming is all about just bettering your times. You really looked strong in your freestyle. Looked like you had a lot left. Just a reminder you can do the dolphin kick when you are coming off the wall in your breaststroke.
Lala, Have a good trip down under.
The weather there should be in the high 70's low 80's. We will be looking for some great pictures.
Welcome to the new visitors to the web site. I know there are a lot that visit but don't comment.
Let's hear from you!!!!

Thanks so much for the wishes for the success of my trip AuntK and Gmom. I have a few days left before I leave so I will try to talk to you before then AuntK. I'll take the best pictures I can. The arena has a retractable roof and if they chose to close it I may bave a tough time getting good photos, but I will do my best. I still have no idea where the seats are. But I am on the task!

Things to eat/drink in Oz: lamingtons and friandes (both exquisite pastries), any kind of chocolate or ice cream (Magnum bars!!), gyros, pot pies and seafood, wine (but not the obvious labels that we know from the States; they send the good stuff here). Things NOT to eat/drink in Oz: hot dogs (oh. my. god. they. suck.), potato chips/crisps (unless you like lime and chili-flavored ones), beer (overpriced and merely eh), and good luck finding a normal cup of coffee (an Americano is the closest you'll get).

I'm primarily a lurker, because as much as I wish it was different - when I write or say something regarding swimming, it is as if Swimming World Magazine said it.
I LOVE message boards and interactivity on sites (FYI, we're going to be debuting some of these things on our site soon)
We're also going to be looking for some moderators on our boards when they get there. So, keep me posted if anyone is interested.
