Nike Fall Swimwear Photo Shoot
SwimmingWorldMagazine.com has some video up of the Nike Catalog shoot that took place in Arizona last month. They don't talk to Brendan (???!!!) but he's in the video and they have interviews with Kaitlin Sandeno, Aaron Peirsol, Maritza Correia and Whitney Myers.
They look COLD.
Ann Arbor is gorgeous and we've been having a good time. Kaitlin won the 200 IM and 400 Free this morning and Mike won the same events on the men's side. Vanessa Garcia and Derrick Roe won the 50 frees. I'll get photos up after prelims tonight and post them in the other swimmers gallery.

I didn't realize Whitney had signed with Nike. Is she one of the first to be signed with Octagon and get a deal with Nike and not Speedo?

She may be. I know Whitney has worn NIke her whole time at Arizona. The whole team wears it. But as afar as her being first, I'm not sure. I'll tell ya one thing I am sure about:
Morning finals are the worst thing to happen to the sport in it's entire history.
It is dismal in the morning. It may be better this morning since it is Saturday, but I won't go out on a limb and make any promises. The crowd is small and the swimmers are lethargic and barely improving their time from the finals the night before. I'm going to try to pay more attention to actual times this morning, but it is pretty bleak. And it is really hard to get your self back for 3-4 hours of prelims after you have spent the afternoon out having a day away from the pool.
Ann Arbor is beautiful. I have never seen "woods" before. I am not sure we have those in California.

Glad you are enjoying this area of the US Lauren.
I really think the swimmers will be OK with morning Finals. Having the whole night to rest is enough. What they truely need is the crowd behind them. What have you guys been doing the night before????? I think that is the bigger question. hahahaha

I just looked at times and it seems like what Bowman said about the first day is still true. Only the top swimmers are really improving their times from prelims to finals. Maybe tomorrow will be better after they've gotten a little used to the morning finals.

You are right Jessie. I think that only the swimmers who are fit to be Olympians will make it to Beijing. But this is the first time. I am sure there is a learing curve.
