  • Hey Blair,

Boy I hope we can have a meal together with the BHO group.

The last 2 weeks have been crazy with all the logisitics, the Crocker false start, etc.

I am now digging my way through the Junior event. Sleep is about 5 hours per night until the weekend.

    Oh well, it's all good.

  • Thanks for sharing the pictures Peter, they are wonderful.
I missed (another) meet but just watching the videos and seeing the pictures that everyone has posted, made me feel like I was part of the action, :).

  • A cracked windshield and 6 T-shirts forced upon me later, I'm back from Indy. Volunteering was very cool. It gave me the best seat in the house, right on deck, and I got to see all sorts of behind-the-scenes goodness. It was great meeting Peter and talking with Lala. I only wish there were more meets in my neck of the woods.

  • Woohoo!! Thanks, guys!

Peter, your pictures are wonderful! Thanks so much for sharing them with us. I really wish I could have been there, but I most definitely would not have joined you on the catwalk. I never went on the catwalk in my lighting class in college, I'm not about to start now. ;)

  • Hi Gang,

Whew, what a tiring 2 weeks. This morning I just couldn't get up for the prelims so I slept in. I had been up to 2 am sorting out some computer photo file issues and just couldn't do it.

It's OK though since I have most of the juniors already shot.

Thanks for the nice comments on the pics. I really enjoyed meeting some new (to me ) BHO'ers and the catwalk tour. Pretty brave group for their first time!!

If you want to see the virtual catwalk tour, I am on SwimmingWorld TV Day 3 interviews (at the end and it is a long one). After the Crocker false start which was caused by a photographer (not me!!) firing a strobe at the wrong time, I was interviewed by Brent Rutemiller, Swimming World Magazine Publisher and we went up to the catwalk to see what a strobe set-up looks like. So you can see what it is like as well.

I still feeel really bad about the false start. I had met with the offending photog prior to the session to be sure he knew what he should do (and not do). USA swimming has no procedure for approvind use of strobes. This is something they need to fix pronto. Ian commented on that as well.

I only wish I had more time to hang out with y'all (texas stuff) during the event. Another time we will do it.

    Cheers,

    Peter

  • I notice in the gallery that the most popular shots include Buzz Hansen.

We do not need to give him more reasons for a swelled head!! Just kidding Buzz! He does love the camera (and it loves him)..

  • It's awesome that Peter was willing to go on cam and talk about everything with Brent. We're still working on getting the footage of that DQ, as well as the Lezak DQ over in Paris, to work something for SWTV.

Nice to meet everyone in Indy!
