Ian Crocker's SwimRoom.com Blog Ranked Top Five by Sports Illustrated
Read this over at Swimming World...
Nice! Although Jason kindly abbreviated the full quote about Crocker...
Now, was that last part really necessary?
Lang Whitaker of Sports Illustrated's web site, SI.com named Ian Crocker's blog on SwimRoom.com his fifth-ranked athlete blog on the web, as reported here.
Whitaker wrote the following about Crocker's blog:
...This US swimmer knows how to write and makes everything he posts worth reading...
Whitaker also ranks Rod Benson (basketball), Curt Schilling (baseball), Gilbert Arenas (basketball) and Moritz Volz (soccer).
Nice! Although Jason kindly abbreviated the full quote about Crocker...
Ian Crocker: This US swimmer knows how to write and makes everything he posts worth reading...even if he's posting about swimming.
Now, was that last part really necessary?

Did the guy actually read Ian's blog? It's more about music, food, travel and life in general with swimming usually thrown in as an afterthought.
Though, and I'm probably going to make some enemies with this one, part of the reason that it's interesting is that 93% of the time he isn't talking about swimming.

I was going to say the same thing, jaclyn--most of his blogs are about everything but swimming and that doesn't bother me in the least.
However, "even if it's about swimming"? Someone needs to write to this guy and give him a little slap on the wrist :)
I know I haven't posted in a while, but I do stop by on a regular basis to see what's up. Michelle--you and lala have been keeping it going really well during the slow news/swimming time. Thanks!

I'm glad that more people are able to recognize Ian for the great, unique person that he is, but as far as that last part...unnecessary.

See, I feel the guy was a little tongue in cheek. I thought he was saying that Ian makes everything he posts about interesting. Like as if to say that he can write about things he finds boreing and make them interesting. Like a drive alone across country, or fixing an engine, eating a pancake.
I think if the guy were a total hater, he never would have read the blogs on swimroom.
Those was just my peronal feelings on the topic.

Ian is always a good read. Talking with him is the same. He has interesting views and a lot of interests outside of swimming. Go Ian!
