Career HighlightsBrendan Hansen is considered as the best breaststroker in the history and has had an impressive career. He is a four-time Olympic medalist and has several other honors and awards for his credit as well. A consistent and impressive performance from his side has earned him laurels and he has been able to set many records and milestones for others to follow too.

His career has many highs, the peak being 2004 Athens Olympics where he won a gold medal for 400 meter medley relay, silver in the 100 meter breaststroke and a bronze in the 200 meter breaststroke. He even won a gold medal in 400 meter medley relay in 2008 Olympic Games and set a world record and was placed fourth in the 100 meter breaststroke.

At the 2007 FINA World Championships, he won a gold in 100 meter breaststroke and silver in the 50 meter breaststroke. He set three world records in 2006 by breaking world records once for 100 meter breaststroke and twice for 200 meter breaststroke. He won three gold medals at the 2006 Pan Pacifics and 2005 World Championships.

He won his first International gold medal in 200 meter breaststroke at the 2001 World Championships. During his career with the University of Texas, he was the NCAA champion in 100 and 200 meter breaststroke for all four years. He was voted Athlete of the Year in 2006 by USA Swimming and was the World Team Captain in 2007. Brendan Hansen has had an impressive career and several career highs in his term.
